On the contrary, it is the real way to use a halberd in formation. Based on the historical documentation we have there are three ways to use the halberd without entering mixed formations. And all three are very similar to pikes. In fact in the regulations of many European armies following the doctrine of the Tercios or the Swiss, the halberd is in fact a light pike used to escort riflemen posted in positions outside the main formation and protect them from cavalry. Sounds not like a good idea to me, sorry. Fighting a halberds are way to heay to fight like a smal headed pike and elves are not known for their strength.

I think that's a cool idead but some standing poses would also be appreciated! I'd also increase the angle a bit, to allow regiment blocks to better touch bases.
