Elven Prince on Lion

I didn't take it as a criticism :) But of course these are things that we think about a lot every day. In fact, the problem of the rein is the same problem we have with the griffin... If we make it realistic, we cover a large part of the face. And as there is no real rein, that we say that's the way it has to be, any solution is bad in one way or another.

Yeah not trying to bring you down whatsoever. It’s one of the most brilliant lion sculpts I’ve ever seen! I think that’s why I looked at it this critically.

It is as unlikely that the lion would admit the rein as it is that it could be ridden. We could have been more realistic and made a harness for the mouth, but we would have destroyed much of the lion's expressiveness. The lion's face is not really realistic either. We have based it much more on Scar's drawings from the Lion King than on the real lion's anatomy. So it's much more iconic. Sometimes we have to sacrifice a bit of realism to get a better sculpture. Also think that this type of sculpture does not have any good reference from which we can draw inspiration, and the patreon rates are very high. Looks awesome, but the bit in the mouth seems incorrect. What prevents the cat from spitting it out? (Also there’s no room in a cat mouth so have this and still close their mouth

It is intended as a monster, not as a cavalry. The lion might fit, but you would have to make a full custom base for it.
