Maturity of Magic Chapter 16
🕑 Added 2025-01-08 21:06:45 +0000 UTCHe was able to sneak back into Gryffindor tower from Grimmauld Place early enough that no one would notice he was missing. That didn’t mean he got enough sleep, as Harry woke up the next morning feeling exhausted from the previous day’s events.
He was tired from using so much magic in the fight yesterday, along with having sex well into the previous night. He groggily showered and put on his school robes before making his way down to the Gryffindor common room without a care for his surroundings. As a result, he didn’t see the first-year girl that he bumped into until it was too late. She nearly went sprawling after colliding with his strong frame, and Harry barely managed to grab her arm in time before she fell.
“Sorry about that.” Harry held her upright. “I didn’t see you.”
She was a small girl with dark hard and a flowery headband wearing Gryffindor robes. Her brown eyes looked up at him, mixed with shock and horror. Harry couldn’t help but feel a sense of foreboding at her next words, knowing what was about to happen couldn’t be good. “N-No! T-This can’t be happening.”
“Umm… What’s happening?” He asked uneasily, looking around warily.
“I’m too young to have a boyfriend, much less get married!” She rambled on, as if encountering him was the worst thing she had ever experienced. “I know other girls want to, but I’m not ready to join your coven!”
“I think you got it all wrong.” He laughed awkwardly, slowly backing away from the first-year girl who seemed to be in some sort of trance. Luckily, she seemed to be lost in her own little world, and didn’t notice.
I need to get out of here. It was the only logical decision Harry could make in that moment, seeing as the girl was starting to draw attention with her panicking. With that he moved swiftly to the common room entrance, and headed down towards the Great Hall.
It was the reactions of people on the way that made him even more nervous, the terrified stares of girls along with the impressed looks boys sent his way. It all came to a head when he finally entered the Great Hall, causing a the large room to quiet instantly as everyone stared at him.
The girls looked at him as if he was some sort of monster, and it reminded him how cats carefully avoided large dogs back at Privet Drive. It was almost as if they believed he would suddenly lash out and strike at them without warning, as every girl watched him with bated breath as he headed towards the Gryffindor table.
The boys on the other hand watched him as if he was some sort of god amongst them, giving him reverence and respect he hadn’t seen before. Many of the older boys gave him cool nods while the younger years simply looked awestruck. He was still unsure what he had done to earn all this unneeded attention, but was sure that it had to do with the reveal of his relationships in some fashion.
He put those thoughts to the side, and with a quick glance up at the Head Table he noted that Umbridge was missing. Professor Sinistra was there though, and she gave him a small smile before returning to her meal.
He sat down at his usually spot amongst his friends, with Ron and a seemingly stunned Hermione sitting at his sides.
“Where is Umbridge?” He started off the conversation.
“Erm… no one has seen her this morning, now that you mention it.” Hermione answered slowly. “Have you seen the Prophet this morning, Harry?”
“No.” He grumbled, only imagining what kind of dragon-dung they had written about him this time. “What is it?”
“It’s all about you, mate.” Seamus chimed in, looking over the paper. “Half of it seems to claim you’re a serial womanizer, and the other half claims that you’re being taken advantage of.”
“Nothing new there.” He shrugged.
“Hey, um, Harry?” Neville asked nervously, getting his attention. “Would you mind doing something for me?”
“What is it, Nev?”
“You see, there’s this girl I fancy, and I just wanted to ask that you stay away from her if you could.” Neville blushed red. “It’s Hannah Abbott.”
It took him a moment to realize what Neville was asking, and that his roommate was genuinely worried about him seducing his crush. No doubt his shy roommate was imagining him running roughshod over every girl he came across, and Hannah Abbott being one of those girls. “Neville, I’m not like that, honestly.”
Neville sighed in relief, only for Seamus to cut in. “Yeah, Nev, don’t worry about Harry taking your crush. Hannah isn’t exactly his type anyways.”
“My type?” Harry asked, bewildered.
“You know, gorgeous, high status, and older.” Fred answered from a few seats over.
“The type of women who are impossible for us to actually talk to.” George added.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Harry blushed in embarrassment.
“You have to admit that the Head of the DMLE isn’t exactly someone the rest of us can get with, mate.” Ron said without any jealousy, which was a relief. He had worried that his friend would be furious after finding out the details about his romantic life, but if anything Ron seemed to just accept it and move on.
“That’s not mentioning Zabini’s freaking Mum!” Dean said, looking over a picture of Julia on the front page of the Prophet. “It says here that she has six dead husbands, but I can see why you’d risk dating her with a body like that!”
The boys around him nodded in agreement, while the girls fumed in outrage. Harry meanwhile played with his food, avoiding the topic entirely.
“How exactly did you meet with these women, Harry?” Hermione asked with a frown. “I’ve never seen you talking with Greengrass before, nor with Madam Bones or this Zabini woman.”
“About that…” Harry let out an awkward laugh. “We-”
“Mr. Potter.” The strict voice of Professor McGonagall suddenly called out, interrupting him, and he turned to see her approaching. “You are needed in the Headmaster’s office.”
He felt a smidge of worry in his stomach, doubting that Dumbledore wanted to have a friendly chat with him. He nodded reluctantly, getting up and following the Headmistress as she left the Great Hall and headed towards the seventh floor.
The woman didn’t speak to him the entire way, setting a blistering pace that left him scrambling to keep up with her. He guessed it was her way of showing her frustration with him, and it took all the way until they reached the seventh floor for her to finally speak.
“Your father was always misbehaving when it came to fraternizing with the female population.” McGonagall suddenly said. “It is a shame to say the same about yourself.”
He had heard many times from Sirius about his Godfather’s own experiences when it came to dating. His father was mentioned enough times for Harry to get a general idea of what the man’s time at Hogwarts was like. That said, he knew what McGonagall was referring to, and couldn’t help but wince at the thought of her thinking of him in that light.
Harry didn’t think of himself as a womanizer, and instead believed it was just his usual luck that his romantic life turned out as it was. If he could fight Voldemort multiple times, get entered in a deadly school tournament, and even get bitten by a basilisk, then was it really a stretch for him to end up with a weird sex life?
“Professor, it’s not like that! I-”
“Save it, Potter.” She cut him off, as they neared the entrance to Dumbledore’s office. “The Headmaster’s waiting.”
He sighed and began climbing the steps heading to Dumbledore’s office, figuring that it was pointless to even argue with the woman. As he passed the statue and made his way up the stairs, he began hearing voices arguing on the other side of the door.
“~and let us not forget how we got into the situation in the first place, Headmaster. Allowing a woman like that into this school should never have happened in the first place!” Harry could hear a familiar feminine voice from the other side of the door, albeit sounding more angry than he was used to. It took a lot of balls to talk to Dumbledore like that.
“You seem to forget it was Cornelius who appointed Dolores to the position she was in, not me.” Dumbledore sternly replied.
Himself and McGonagall entered the office then, not attracting any attention to themselves as the other three in the room continued to argue. Dumbledore was dressed in his outlandish robes, as was normal, with the Minister standing a bit away and looking nervous. Amelia, for her part, was dressed in her prestigious auror robes, her red hair done up in a fashionable bun along with her signature monocle equipped.
Clearly the three were dealing with the aftermath of Umbridge’s dissapearence, and Harry could tell that Amelia had done a good job of uncovering what exactly the woman was up to. Both Dumbledore and Fudge looked worried, as the Head of the DMLE read them the riot act.
“Yet that does not absolve you from looking the other way as that woman tortured students with a blood quill of all things.” Amelia shot Dumbledore down, before turning her wrathful gaze upon the Minister. “And don’t think I’ve forgotten about your own actions, Minister.”
“Now, now, Amelia, I’m sure this is one big misunderstanding.” Fudge patted his sweaty brow with a handkerchief. “Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, I’m sure there is a reasonable explanation for all of this! In the meantime, I have decided to place Dolores on temporary leave until the investigation is over, and she is located. While that is going on, someone more suitable will be taking her place here at Hogwarts.”
Dumbledore frowned. “Who?”
The floo suddenly flared to life as if to answer his question, and an impeccably dressed blonde woman came walking out. She wore a tight black skirt that outlined the stunning flare of her child-bearing hips along with the fat arse attached to it. Above that she wore an appropriate dress shirt that gave a hint to the large breasts hidden underneath.
Narcissa was the last person Harry expected to enter Dumbledore’s office in that moment, and he certainly wasn’t the only one surprised to see her. Both Amelia and McGonagall gaped at the woman in suprise, but obviously their reactions were for different reasons.
Dumbledore, for his part, seemed to pale a little at the sight of her. Harry was glad that his relationship with Narcissa was still secret, or else he was sure whatever his courtesan was up to would have no chance at succeeding.
“Lady Malfoy.” Dumbledore greeted her, sounding a bit faint.
“Minister, Headmaster Dumbledore, Madam Bones, a pleasure to be with you all.” Cissy smirked thinly, like a shark smelling blood. “And I would to say how greatful I am to become Hogwarts newest Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor.”
Dumbledore let out a cough at that announcement, and even McGonagall held a hand to her chest in shock. No doubt the two of them were coming to the conclusion that this was a ploy setup by Malfoy, as placing a woman like her would give Voldemort nearly direct access to the school. In reality, Narcissa was working for him, but that wasn’t something they knew quite yet.
This whole affair had been setup by Narcissa shortly after their latest coupling, his courtesan having promised to handle Umbridge’s demise by implanting herself into Hogwarts. Her being a Professor would be not only convenient to him, but also beneficial to their cause, allowing her to easily fill the void left by Umbridge as Fudge’s spy, while at the same time keeping Dumbledore paranoid.
The Minister would trust anyone related to the Malfoy name, and Harry was sure Narcissa had been quick to take advantage of him. It helped that Amelia found all the dirt needed to take Umbridge out of the equation, and within a matter of a day the Minister was throwing everything he had behind appointing Narcissa to the position of Professor.
For the umpteenth time, Harry had to thank whoever needed it that his relationship with Narcissa had not been exposed. It would make the predicament in front of him impossible, as the last person anyone expected Narcissa to be loyal to was himself.
“Are you sure this is wise… Cornelius?” Dumbledore asked carefully.
“Why, of course!” The Minister exclaimed. “Surely you wouldn’t dare question a woman of higher standing such as Lady Malfoy!”
Dumbledore went to speak, likely to say something about Voldemort, and his connection to the Malfoy family, but Amelia suddenly cut in. “I, personally, would like to know what made you want to become a Professor at Hogwarts, Lady Malfoy?”
“Thank you, Madam Bones.” Narcissa smiled at his girlfriend, who seemed to go along with their game. It seemed that Amelia had caught on to what was happening, and he could tell she was amused by the whole situation. “I have always in my heart wanted to pass on my knowledge to the next generation, something I am sure will suprise some of you. The thrill of teaching the next generation about the wonders of magic is something I cherish, and I can only express my deepest gratitude for being chosen as Hogwarts newest Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor. With it, I plan to educate and inspire those here at Hogwarts about the wonders of magic, along with dangers associated with it.”
What a load of Dragonshit. Harry couldn’t help but think to himself, knowing Narcissa didn’t give the slightest damn about becoming a Professor. It seemed the others knew so as well, with McGonagall’s eye twitching in annoyance and the heavy frown on Dumbledore’s features. Fudge really seemed to be the only one in the room buying it, based on the triumphant smirk on his face.
“Thank you, Lady Malfoy, that was quite inspiring.” Amelia said to her before she turned to look at himself. “Mr. Potter, I’m afraid that I have some questions for you that need answering. If you would follow me.”
Dumbledore stiffened where he stood, and Harry knew the Headmaster would try and intervene, but Narcissa and Fudge distracted him as Amelia dragged him out of the room and down the stairs.
The Head of the DMLE led him through the seventh floor and to a broom closet of all places, practically dragging him inside before spelling the door closed. “We need to talk.”
“In a broom closet?”
“Don’t get any ideas.” Amelia smiled. “We don’t have the time to be fooling around. Firstly, I would like to know what exactly happened to Umbridge.”
“The woman was working for Voldemort, and orchestrated a plot with Malfoy to kidnap me.” Harry answered, going on to tell her about how Umbridge had kidnapped Daphne to lure him into the Forbidden Forest before ambushing him. Amelia simply nodded when he explained how he killed Lucius and his fellow Death Eaters, with the help of Professor Sinistra of all people.
“I’m sorry you had to go through with that, Harry.” Amelia said sincerely once he finished. “I had a feeling that Umbridge was up to no good, and the first thing I did upon learning of her disappearance was search her office. It wasn’t exactly a suprise when I found several dark artifacts used to torture students in her desk. What exactly happened to her during the fight?”
“Professor Sinistra killed her, I believe.” Harry answered. “What she did with her body… I don’t know.”
“That’s good enough for me.” Amelia nodded, before her expression changed. “Now, I believe it’s time we had a serious talk.”
He could see the vulnerability in Amelia then, the shift from her work personality over to the personality he was more familiar with. Clearly the last day had been stressful, and it was only luck that the meeting in Dumbledore’s office was about Umbridge’s dissapearence and not his sex life.
“I’m a powerful woman, Harry.” The older redhead said. “I have my career, my House, and my reputation to take care of. And I need to know that you’re ready to keep going forward with our… relationship if you want things to go on.”
“Is this because of that article?” He grimaced, already knowing the answer.
Daphne had been kidnapped because of the article Skeeter wrote, and now Amelia was confronting him as well. Everything had been going fine when they were dating in secret, but he knew that it would come out eventually that they were dating. That moment had finally happened, and Harry was left scrambling ever since.
“It is.” Amelia nodded. “People are aware of our relationship, and its become the hottest piece of office gossip going around the Ministry.”
“Sorry.” Harry groaned. “Things are the same here, as I never wanted it to come out like this.”
“And yet we keep moving forward.” She replied. “I just need to know if you are good to keep moving forward with this.”
He looked at Amelia then, seeing her vulnerable blue eyes watching him. Harry knew the answer to her question, and could tell from her expression that she felt the exact same way that he did.
“Amelia, it will take a lot more than a few articles to make me think twice about dating you-”

“I am afraid that I have to return to word.” Amelia smiled at them, before her eyes lowered to his trousers and she gained a mischievous look. “It looks like Harry could use some help with a little problem, Daphne. Perhaps you could… take care of him?”
It took a moment for his Slytherin betrothed to figure out what she was referring to, her eyes eventually landing on the erection hidden within his trousers before staring in shock. “Oh! O-Of course! This way Harry!”
Before he knew it, Daphne was dragging him through the different halls of Hogwarts. He looked back to see an amused Amelia watching them. How has my life come to this?

In regards to the poll for the Crossover story, Game of Thrones was the winner, and an outline for the story is in progress. I have some ideas for the plot(what plot?) that I hope you enjoy, as well as women lined for Harry to enjoy as well.
I’d just like to say how much I enjoyed your comments and feedback on the last poll, and I’m genuinely considering just going ahead and writing a Justice League crossover. Either that will happen or I’ll just decide to do another story poll, but either way I’ll probably be writing a DC crossover eventually.

I am happy for the update, but come on can you make harry at least somewhat more assertive and taking no shit from anyone? I mean what right does McGonagall has to judge, given that over the years she hardly did anything to help. More confidence would be nice and kinda appropriate given everthing he did. What greater accomplishment is there then banging a hot older women. I swear I would be feeling as if I was the king of the world and not behave so meek when People who have no right to, start to judge me for it. But otherwise nice story and can't wait for the crossover
