Randall Brynsvold

It wasn't clear to me whether the Grand Ravine cultivators (400) would go, or whether everyone at the patriarch's gathering (thousands) would all go.

Levi

i forget realism shit like that, i guess it would depend on the size of the city if it has 100,000 then adding a couple thousand might hurt the food storage but if should be able to get some more before it runs out. the the azure trading company is there as well so they will probably try to make a profit from the cultivators.

WonderBread459

As great as it would be to see that, chapters with Lu Ri in them are always a treat, he doesn’t strike me as someone who would care that much. Let others figure out their own buisness and such.

Randall Brynsvold

The tournament is a thing that's planned, with prior funding. Is Director Bai Huizong preparing for this meeting as well?

Aesoir

Although the full might of the grand ravine is a large number of cultivators, it’s not a lot of people. The dueling peaks town who is used to serving the tourney and all the mortal hanger-ons will be more than sufficient food wise.

William Johnson

Tao the Hype Man doing his job! Looks like this meeting's going to be interesting, I assume Senior Brother's going to know about it at the very least I wonder if he'll go to observe in person.

Randall Brynsvold

Is Jin close enough (in cultivator running time) to bring his agricultural surplus to the Dueling Peaks to help feed the impromptu mob from Grand Ravine?

T. Lewison

In an earlier chapter, we were told that the Hermetic Iron Sect has 10 cultivators. Small but mighty! ;)

Kipper

“Six disciples of the Sect, over half their number” - oh wow I really hope that’s half the number of people currently at the Dueling Peaks and not the full disciple count of the Hermetic Iron Sect because that is TINY. Even if each disciple was an only child with their parents, grandparents, and great grandparents still alive that’s nothing compared to the thousands of the Grand Ravine Sect. The Grand Ravine Sect’s might was previously attributed to their power and tactics, but frankly they’d dominate Azure Hills through sheer numbers. Fun to see Xinling again. The Grey Water Sect has been mentioned a few times prior so I’m eager to find out if it was foreshadowing or coincidence. Small nitpick - I was confused my first read of “and the once unpopular Huizhong Dolls” since Xiulan’s and Tigu’s were popular. Change “the” to “their” to exclude the popular ones. Both work, but ‘their’ is a better clarifier. I’m so excited for the confrontation of the Grand Ravine Sect and Xiulan (and through her Tialan)! Tialan’s story reveal had me in tears and I’m betting I’ll get choked up again when she learns she had people in her corner for millennia.

Merf

Don’t under estimate word of mouth. Plus, It takes time for people to move, especially in large numbers. Even cultivators. There’s also the plum blossoms shadow dealing in information all over the Azure Hills, so it’s never been easier for word to spread.

Munirah Hutchinson

Not gonna lie, I got a bit teary at this one. It's just so good. The atmosphere is so tangible. I loved it.

STORRM

hype!

So is Tao a self insert from Casualfarmer 🤔 In any case he’s good I’m all amped up!

Anzer'ke

I'm just imagining Shen Yu telling the Emperor the truth about how important Earth Spirits are and then that one tiny Sect in the far North has been the only line of defence for one for most of the empire's span.

Anzer'ke

Everytime we get a glimpse of the Grand Ravine's bond with the earth I tear up a bit. Even if Tianlan could have survived the loss, holding that piece of her veins safe for thousands of years is incredible. If that really was the last linchpin then...they might have held the fate of the entire Crimson Phoenix Empire in their hands, given the potential outcomes from another Waste forming and the loss of everything the Empire has gained from Jin and co.

Love this chapter

Sebastian Rubin

I'm so hyped I'm shivering!

Len

Damn.......

Victor Segura

Amazing. I love that one of the most famous actions of Xiulan is that she cooks for cultivators and mortals alike. How isekai of her. Love how famous Tie has become, not for his strenght but for his unmatched knowledge and capability. And man, did that scene of blood changing happened in the "past arc"? I don't remember but its been like a year or something since I saw that chapter. It feels so much the hype for the new dialogue tree. Its like Disco Elysium before the "spoiler".

T. Lewison

Okay, Lin's moniker is hilarious. All I can imagine is this: "Fairy? Who you callin' a fairy, asshole?! THE NAME IS LIN, IT'S EASY. If you can't manage that, Sailor Sun is fine. Jeez!"

John D Jones

Who says the Grand Ravine folks aren't her people? Why do you think they're going to oppose Xuilan instead of joining her?

Justin

Looking forward to it

GameJunkie999

If the Ravine People think the Earth Spirit is on their side they have another thing coming. Tianlan is backering her people.
