Also jins farm is very far away from other cultivator areas. I don’t think there has been an official scaled map. But considering that Jin’s farm is 20+ miles from its nearest village. And that village is another 20-30 miles from verdant hill (based on mentioned travel times cut down by the nice roads). That Azure Trading Co. took a months long expedition to set up in verdant hill… his farm is hundreds miles away from other cultivators. Thats like something happening in New Orleans and people sensing it in Dallas.

Yes, Jin and Tianlan were attenuating (muffling, damping) the power that would have caused damage to the farm's land: "Shen Yu’s fists ignited the air, and Jin’s fists quelled them. Each strike should have blown craters into the ground, or shattered the trees around them, yet Rou diverted the energy, leaving only ruffled grass." They also apparently attenuated the intent and ripples in Qi that could be sensed by other cultivators, since the main result of each strike that was detectable across the farm was the physical sound: "Every person on the farm flinched as the first boom reached their ears. Two babes started crying. Meiling looked simultaneously resigned and furious." (v349.2: The Heavens and the Earth part 2, 11/20/22)

I guess I assumed there's an intrinsic dampening quality to how Jin's power gets expressed in the world. Towards the end of the tournament arc the Shrouded Mountain guys noticed that there was more local qi density, but couldn't really sense his level until they were actually face-to-face. It's a fair point about Shen Yu, which I hadn't really considered. I don't think it would be too handwavy to say that he was still in control of himself even then, though. Or like, Jin was deliberately preventing Shen Yu from damaging the landscape, so his power also didn't reverberate outwards.

Something has been bothering me ever since gramps came to Fa Ram, and this chapter kind of reinforced it a bit. But, if two mortals could feel the clash of two beings in the low spiritual realm miles away in a mountain, then how is it that not one cultivator in the azure hills sensed a clash between Jin who who has atleast power equivalent to the lower end of the sky realm and Shen Yu? Shouldn’t that have broken atleast a few qi sensing stones?

Thanks for the chapter

I think it’d hinge quite a lot on the animation, but I’d love to see the farm in all its glory.

BigBro Bluesman

Anyone else just..hoping for the day this becomes an anime?

Id call it more "side-plot" then "filler"

Paul S.

"Filler" is fine sometimes. Otherwise a story can feel too dense. Still, I am looking forward to this arc reaching a climax. There is a lot of payoff to be had with revelations being revealed and we have a farm to get back to.

STORRM

eh i liked it i'd had totally forgotten about the doll guy

And fun interlude haha, Huizong sure spent that extra cash money on the good stuff! Bao Wen being collectively adopted by all the sect leaders and elders he was locked with is so funny lol, and they still remember him too! The difference in attitudes lol. Huizong: Mortal Administrator, host Bao Wen: Our Good Boy Son Nephew The Imperial Audito-: some government lackey we don't care for

Demian Buckle

Thank you for the Chapter.

Nemo

The fact that the auditor has a weasely face is mentioned multiple times. Might be something to change in editing. Great chapter tho :) like you said filler-y but not unpleasantly so

WeirdingtonEsq

The sect elders doting on Bao Wen gives me life. Like catching up with how the larger chaos of the region is effecting Huizhong. You say filler, I say sprinkles add essential texture.

You just know......point of view change for the next 2 posts to Bi Di and gang at Sms for the tournement . because no posts next week...just to make us all suffer.

Avdrdr

This is stage setting. It’s just from a different perspective than normal, but that makes it more interesting and a better read. I do wonder if the auditor has any noble support left though after the purge.
