Correction I meant to say volumes not chapter since volume 2 is going to be made into 2 and 3 it would seem wise to move the monkey chapters to the end of volume 2 Jin arrives at twin peaks and ending with the solstice would be the end of volume 3 and next chapter would start volume 4 and the 25 chapters of fluff would be condensed down in the final book what we read here are first draft and not the final book (up to 2 year wait per volume)so I prefer a little fluff as I wait for the good stuff 9 chapter/month 3/wk not always on time because sometimes creating something takes more time than allotted

Ah, good old social cycle theory. If it's any consolation Big D, the cycle gets a little farther every time. Barring setbacks like the dark ages.

Protecting an author from criticism especially when it’s polite is among the worst thing you can do as a reader. It’s up to the author to read the criticism or not and decide if it has merit or not.

DON'T Change It!!! Please! The way this is written Is the way it should be published. This is a dynamic story, not a dry as dust book. As it is now it is very human, reflecting on the things that brought everything together is an awesome tool for an outside perspective. Writing this way brought depth to a very trying experience. Please Don't Change the Order.

Too many whiners if you are unsatisfied why are you still here our current chapter 3 will eventually become chapter 4 with some major rearranging I assume chapter 2 started out slow also and lead to the tournament everyone raved about let's see were things go at least a while longer before we assume the substance is forever gone

I feel like this entire volume so far is to establish what Jin WANTS, his ideal life or something close to it, and what is normal for the characters, to build up a connection, BEFORE crap hits the fan and things get disturbed again.

riseris

This is my entire opinion of volume 3 so far. There doesn’t appear to be any underlying theme or anything yet and this flashback was pretty much unnecessary since a lot of the events could have just happened in the present.

Same question where is the conflict? Maybe do a time skip?, Split up the characters?.

Beautifully written

So a couple thoughts I have had recently... First, I think C:25 probably feels a bit off because it would fit better at the end of V2, when the events actually occurred instead of as a flash back, a flash back to events that happened so recently in the story just feels I dunno off somehow? But I get that as a serial it is hard to just re arrange chapters on the fly. Second this was four chapter parts that served essentially only one purpose, to give Hou Ten a back story/introduction, and given that Hou Ten took a fairly major back seat, so as a chapter it fails to emotionally connect myself at least to the character Hou Ten, in the way that the earlier chapter's involving him did. Lastly, We are 25 chapters, (more if you account the parts) into V3, and V3 feels kind of directionless. Where V1 was about the farm, and V2 was about the crew's adventures, I couldn't really tell you what V3 is about so far. It's SoL so I get that to an extent but it's just a feeling I have had recently. Anywho tftt I'm taking bets on whether Friday's chapter will show up on Saturday or Sunday any takers? :P

Chapter is delayed to tomorrow.

You have a point, but it does actually work. Deadpan just means flat and emphasis doesn't imply inflection, necessarily. It is a little awkward, but it works. Draw out the "without" as the emphatic tone rather than inflecting the word. You can keep the deadpan tone and get emphasis.

Emerson Fortier

An effective ending. Since you say you're unhappy with it I will offer only that, after seeing the scene with the dog, the "recap" in this chapter from Jin's perspective seems unnecessary and distracts from any emotional arch you wanted to stick in this chapter by reminding us of the excellent one from the last.

Sean Ulrich

Just realized Hou Ten could be read as Hootin’, like a howler monkey

Victor Segura

It was very nice. I liked it because it tells us enough to get us into the rest of the viewing and the anticipation is not bad. Just a thing. Is this the word you want to use for this "The monkey asked again, his voice a deadpan." Deadpan? Like nonplussed, without surprise and such? If so, why put the emphazis in supervision?

BelligerentGnu

Nah man, I think this was awesome. The first two parts were maybe a little slow with the wait between weeks, but now that all four are there I think they'll work nicely.
