Replace What say you of this, boy? with What say you of this boy? Or maybe Elder Shou addresses Elder Shou in a very ... informal ... manner. -- Comma nerd

MountHermon

Lu Ri says "pearls in the dirt." Seems like an odd juxtaposition to me.

Barry Morgan

I'm new here so let me know if I'm breaking comment etiquette with my suggested edits, but: I would suggest changing "The fortress city was built partially into the great Cloudy Mountain mountain" to something like "The fortress city was built partially into the great Cloudy Mountain itself" so that the word mountain doesn't appear twice in a row. Also, when I first read "On other days, he spent time with Senior Sister Yeo Na, using the formation upon her" I did a double-take, wondering why he was using the Raging Cloudy Sword Formation on her, ha ha. Maybe me just being slow, but I would have preferred it to read "On other days, he spent time with Senior Sister Yeo Na, using the medical formation upon her" instead for clarity.

Adam Rosenberg

I'm glad Xiao Su Ge actually feels chemistry with him! I was worried for a minute!

Randall Brynsvold

Something's still missing, even after recognizing that he's referring to himself in the third person. "Elder Ge has put forward the motion" or better yet "Elder Ge puts forward the motion" would make things clearer.

Kasinki

I also noticed this the first time, got me confused too. But I think it's one of those formality things where you say your name, like it makes sense in a council to say who is putting forward what motion, even if it is yourself, so everyone can understand. The proximity of his name and the previous sentence do made it a bit jarring.

Robert Adams

-- Ge stated bluntly. “Elder Ge, put forward the motion -- Just saw this now, as I was rereading the chapter. Elder Ge is telling Elder Ge what to do.

Andrew Denton

A romance both through, and about, letters.

WonderBread459

At some point, I think it was during the tournament arc, it was mentioned the raging cloudy sword formation was an example of what a sky realm cultivator could do when creating their domain. Since Lu Ri is close to being able to use this technique, presumably he’s either at the cusp of the sky realm or recently broke into it.

Alex

The peeping wasn't done out of malice. I don't really mind if she tells Jin or not as long as now that it's come to light it's being stopped. Different cultures and customs. Vajra didn't know she was doing anything wrong.

Z H

Oh dear, "The Senior Disciple Knocks Twice"

Ch W

"Su Ge is an Otome Game Villainess in looks and temperment." So a cultivator has drill curls??

What realm is Lu Ri?

D J Meigs

Poor Xiao Su, Lu Ri is more interested in tea with the prostitute’s by the waterfall than tea with her. She should visit Jin, he and Mei Lin are pretty good at curing the need to be proper young mistresses out of people. Sounds like she’d fit right in too

Spade ♠️ Dragon

Blame it on the truck load of Reincarnated Villainess Novels/Mangas/Manwhas that released in the last years, but i have a weak spot for these Otome Tsunderes. Xiao Su Ge has my support. Go Girl, get your handsome Mailman.

So the Cloudy Sword Sect is one of the most powerful and influential sects in the empire right? Well now that they realize the value of the Archive system, I wonder of they will try to start a new trend. They could go through their own archive, and pick out all info they feel they could share and donate it to the Imperial Archives. Not the secret stuff like cultivation techniques and chi formation designs. Stuff like medicine recipes and medical formations, stuff that just keeps someone alive. They would do this alongside a statement from the Emperor, imploring all the other sects to do likewise, arguing that the more sects donate, they more they will all benefit. Sure some will just take what they can and give nothing back, but if it's info you can afford to give away anyway...

BossDawg

Because he is not the sect master of cloudy sword sect. Also patriarch implies head of family not a group of random people.

Aune

can't recall any mention of a patriarch at Cloudy sword sect. might be one not introduced yet, or might be a Elder Council type ordeal

JohnJohn2195

Lu ri going to what was considered a ki desert for 20 years and gonna end up coming back like someone who did a lvl 1 run of dark souls 100% every boss speed run level of pure skill he ends up refining just to run empires post office.

Derek Walker

Curious why Elder Ge is called Elder Ge and not Patriarch Ge.

Robert Davidson

I'm betting on an epic epistolary romance.

Elder Ge sometimes talks in third person is my new head canon , even though I know it's just a mistake.

Jak

Xiao Su Ge would hide lewd or romantic books in between philosophy or archived books to have an outward appearance of deligence and enjoy steamy stories.

Marcin

Propably she will be sent there as.... backup ? Alongside te Senior sister... who feels them feels for her kouhai... Ice Cold Lu Ri is already a harem protag :D

Andrew Denton

My question is how Xiao su ge will react to Lu Ri being elsewhere for 20 years.

Fluffy druid

And definitely NOT indulge in maple syrup. No sirreh!

Marcin

Huh... our friend Lu Ri is closer to the Magistrate than he thinks :D

Gaz

"A Ward is Not Enough, I will personally go to my favorite vac- I mean the azure hills and watch the mail- I mean Jin for a decade or two"

darkmuch

The parallels between the Lu Ri and the Lord Magistrate grows with the addition of tsundere

jeffrey niski

I love the crack in the vineer of Xiao su ge

Len

THis part needs editing- mentioned before maybe something like: I, Elder Ge put forward the motion to have or This Elder Ge puts forward the motion to have

Wun Wong

great chapter. spot a thing: “A ward is insufficient,” Elder Ge stated bluntly. “Elder Ge, put forward the motion to have ....” Elder Ge commanded Elder Ge here.

Quentin Long

From high concentration *of water* to low concentration *of water*, maybe? Am reminded of the erroneous traditional description of the direction of electrical current flow. Maybe it's just a convention which got stuck cuz Wisdom Of The Ancestors?

Nicholas Grey

IMPORTANT: “Is this what people are calling the tendency for liquids to move from high concentrations to low concentrations these days?” In the process of osmosis, water (the solvent) moves from *low concentrations to high concentrations*, not the other way around. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osmosis

I’m imagining the formation proliferating so far and wide that the number of people cutting corners wrt waste disposal becomes an issue. Sure you could destroy the tainted sludge far easier with more people working on it and the impunity of not having to worry about the person it was in… or you could dump it in a river that you don’t care about the people downstream.
