Don’t worry, Xiulan, An Ran may have terrible luck with men, but at least she makes up for it with excellent taste.

I think the part where she noticed the child in the cage being the prime motivator for her intervention, is an adequate explanation. Also the mention that all the people in the cages yelling in outrage/denial probably didn’t help.

well done the combination of the 2 chapters keeps almost all the good points of both versions. The only thing that bugs me in these 2 chapters is the explanation of Tigu's lie detection, although I dont really like the Tigu "polygraph in the original alt version, and the villain explainer in the first original might have been a bit overdone, the current version of where Tigu just thinks "but things didnt line up, the man had been too nervous" feels like it requires one or two more sentences of explanation, There are plenty of clues Tigu could have picked up on to detect the lie, but the current explanation there feels inadequate.

I don't think Iron Dad or Iron Mom were at Dueling Peaks; I think the Sect Master doesn't "do" politics (see the quote below). There was one "representative" of Hermetic Iron at the Azure Sky Summit, the business meeting during the evening of the big party between the semifinals and finals. There didn't seem to be any Hermetic Iron representation at all at the final ceremony in the mountain when all the Sect Elders were trapped as Jin arrived. And Delun was sure that his parents would go along with whatever he proposed because his craft and cultivation were progressing; from "v4c19: The Plans of Men", 6/19/23: Two sects now supported them. And hopefully soon to be a third. His parents were in Grass Sea City, their next destination, but he wasn’t really worried about that outcome. The Sectmaster of the Hermetic Iron Sect would take one look at him and then ask what would need to be done. As long as they could progress their craft, they would agree. And if things did go wrong with their plan, they would have time to prepare for any unexpected circumstances. Few lived in the Iron Fields. They had never had to politick as much as the Sects of the Great Grass Sea. They had their little secluded area, surrounded by steadily rusting iron pillars, and their craft made them invaluable for the Sects that could not produce their own weapons. It saved them the stigma of buying from mortals.

Random thought 1: The fact that ma and pa iron don't recognize Tigu makes me wonder if they were not at Dueling Peaks at all. They should have seen her from a distance, at least, if they were watching the tournament. Do they know about Jin/Master Rou? Have they seen or met him? Random thought 2: Did those Azure Horizon guys refrain from mocking Pa Iron's appearance out of fear of Jin hearing about it and getting offended, since he doesn't look like a typical cultivator either?

I hope the break will be short? Really short? :)

As always thank you for (the excellent) chapter. Looking forward to the next (nothing new there). 101 days until book 3 is out on audible, but who's counting?

New chapters work wonders against depression but I’m always left wanting more
