I have changed my mind. I still say choice of outfit for any postal person, but now I want pants for Gou and Xianghua (tight pants!) and skirts for Biyu and girl-type Yun. Hot + cute! (It's possible I've been watching too much of the Ranma reboot.)

And yet Team Fa'Ram are the ones with proper pokemon. Some of the spirit animals map across almost exactly (ex, Washy = Gyrados) but the rest still map closely enough to actual pokemon to make them work as Regional Variants to get the typing right.

Funny thing: the Pony Express was only operational for about a year before the telegram was invented and put them out of business shortly after. They've had a HUGE cultural footprint for how small a thing they really were.

Agree on the outfits. If all the men are covered, the women shouldn’t be dressed like Aeon Flux. I pictured Su Ge would be in buckskin britches, and, if needed while in company, a Cheongsam or Ao Dai over it. Which got me thinking that leggings under pants or skirts are very insulating, but woolen or silk knit leggings are probably kinda saggy without elastic. So maybe Chyuo & Wa Shi’s trip south can also find latex for elastic?

Yeah, the not drinking at all during pregnancy is *extremely* new. Can confirm that a glass of wine or beer now and again was recommended (and likely still isn’t a big deal in small quantities).

Yeah, you guys are right, but I still have a visceral reaction to impractical clothes for the woman while the man is covered comfortably and thoroughly. Call it too many hours of freezing waiting for a school bus! Plus a large heaping of annoyance at women having to dress revealingly and impractically. Call it latent feminism. 😅 But we're not dealing with issues from my youth, fortunately! I will point out to our wonderful author, though, that I believe his youth was showing from two things unrelated here but related to Meimei's pregnancy: 1. The term "baby bump" has only been used for less than 20 years, and 2. Women not drinking at ALL during pregnancy has only been stressed for the past 25 years or so. When my daughter was born, the most popular baby book suggested the pregnant mom have a drink in the afternoon to help her relax! 😬 Times have really changed! 😨

That's a great picture, but as a fellow female, it seems like Su Ge's legs would absolutely *freeze* in cold weather! Any chance the winter uniform for females includes a longer skirt? As a kid, I about froze my legs off in cold weather wearing a skirt to school -- back in the day, it used to be mandatory, ugh! -- so I always sympathize with women in impractical uniforms! Yeah, I'm the resident Old Lady here...
