Painting guy is a hard one. I don't fully understand the curse. He needs the painting finished for him and his "victims?" to be freed but you have to know what the guy in the portrait looks like but that guy has been dead for years. Should be a loophole around it.

Same. My first thought was was “Okay, if I’m in charge I’m releasing everyone who doesn’t want to be here. Painting guy can stay and we will devote time to curing his curse and getting him whiskey.”

SPOILER I'd accept the role of sight overseer but relocate monsters such as insect boi and mermaid to places they could thrive. And find ways to release the ones cursed. Then destroy the facility afterwards.
