Some articles estimate Carm is 26 at this time and Syd is about 25. They’re the youngest at The Bear.

Its not about being Black and more about Being Old, it shows the contrast between elders with tina and ebra, Tina is the more open minded cool boomer who is willing to adapt and change despite being older and Ebra is the more resistant to change older person, it also a little to do with tina being a woman and ebra being a man, being a Man especially an older one makes you more stubborn and resistant to change cuz of that Pride

Natalie's character is 35 years old (don't ask how I know that, I just do), and she's Carmy's older sister. Richie is 45 and Mikey was his best friend since childhood, so presumably Mikey was probably in his early to mid 40s as well. Carmy's the baby of the family, so he's probably a few years younger than Nat, maybe late 20s or early 30s. Syd is probably a few years younger than Carmy, so probably in her mid-20s.

I'm pretty sure Syd is in her mid-20s. Carmy's probably about 3-4 years older than her.

I’m with Rob on this one. An old Black man, a Somali refugee, being dropped into a situation would be so uncomfortable. He’s spent his whole life carving out a place where he belongs by working hard, keeping his head down, and knowing who to trust. For that generation, taking risks and putting yourself out there has to be SO hard. Respect to the old Black men out there finding their way.

Y'all. Sydney's father is portrayed by Robert Townsend. He's an OG Black filmmaker that broke down a lot of doors for Black film directors. Great reaction, fellas.
