It’s interesting that y’all pointed out that the love interest with the girl and Brad Pitt felt added in. There’s some speculation that Achilles’s cousin, Patroclus, might not be his real cousin. The relationship between Achilles and Patroclus has been depicted in a variety of ways, including as cousins, friends, or lovers So maybe the movie added a female love interest to take the spotlight off of Achilles and Patroclus. Back in the day there weren’t many, if any, bisexual action heroes in movies.
