Just in case anyone is curious, really late into the super manga Vegeta does actually find out about Beerus ordering the destruction of Planet Vegeta after Beerus straight up tells him while intending to piss him off, Vegeta then turns blue and immediately swings on Beerus only to get folded in seconds

Saying Vegeta is a better father than Goku is wild. Pre Saiyan Saga Goku dedicated his time to raising Gohan and being a husband, and after Raditz, he's basically had to save Gohan's life nonstop with each subsequent arc and the one time he got a chance to relax he took Gohan fishing. It's only after Cell was Goku gone for years, and during that time Vegeta was borderline neglecting Trunks so that he could train and surpass Gohan's SSJ2 level. Both aren't great but Vegeta is definitely not "better" lmao

The OG series from beginning to end suffers from bad pacing for a lot of people, I don’t mind filler but it can be too much for some. However the manga is absolutely perfect, from the start to the buu saga.
