2020 Is Going Pretty Well So Far :D

One good thing about posting stuff online is that when I wonder where the time went, I have a list! But the funny thing is that I find all these other things lying around that I completely forgot about. Things half-designed, shelved, abandoned, or just whipped up quickly for some need and never actually photographed or posted. And that's what this post is about!
I'll also talk about videos and such, too, but first, models!
An Assembled Kaleidocycle!
So, that yellow thing in the picture at the top of this post is a proof of concept. This one isn't shelved, either! Remember that crazy print-in-place kaleidocycle that may well have kept falling over on your printer? This one will be much more printable, though there's more to come yet in terms of the interestingness. The yellow print was just to make sure that the basic concept worked, and sure enough yes, you can turn it inside-out continuously!
So, expect more on that one, possibly involving cogs....
Foldover Hook!
Remember that line tensioner I posted earlier this month? Well, this was inspired by using those. I wondered if there was an easy way to attach things relatively securely to the line. That idea evolved into two others: the second of the three clamps I posted, and this, the strange Foldover Hook.
It works as intended, but I'm not sure if it's actually useful! Here's a pic of it in action:
The two halves scissor together over a line and are then held closed by the fact that the line is in the way of them coming apart. The idea is that the loop part might be attached to something to make it convenient to hang up, but I'm really not sure it's a better idea than just using a hook (like the Handy Little Hooks I have on MMF, and which I use constantly).

Rotating Sphere-Within-Cube Box!
Now, this one almost worked, and the concept still feels pretty cool, and it has a neat feature that lets the inside only rotate 90 degrees between open and closed, but I don't think it's quite there. The messiness at the top of the spherical opening bugs me. I think this can become something neat, we'll see.
If anyone particularly wants this one, let me know and I'll get you the STL, but I'm not sure it's really ready for prime time :)
Keychain Pillbox!
I almost completely forgot about this one! This was a request from someone who carries lactase tablets, and wanted to be able to carry two on a keychain. By all accounts it's serving its purpose well!

ROCK PI S Case
A friend gave me a Rock Pi S board, so obviously I had to design a case. On the off chance that you also have such a board, the case design is on Dropbox under Rock Pi S Case
Videos!
I've had a bunch of requests to get back into videos, and so I've started! I posted a video on using Tinkercad to design print-in-place hinges, which people seemed to like. I'm still working on my video workflow though, and I've crashed and burned completely with two other videos, which would be largely done if not for a painful audio sync issue that seems to be related to variable frame rates...
At any rate, I'm getting a bit more efficient with the video production, and should be able to get those going on a more regular basis. The next video will be a run-through of making print-in-place hinges in Fusion 360, and this one will even have an actual aim at the start, rather than me making it up completely as I go along :)

I remain eternally thankful for all your support! I can't say enough how positive and motivating it is to have such amazing, wonderful support. Here's to a fantastic February ahead! :D

Sure thing, Cathy! I've put that yellow design in the ZZZ Experiments folder, too. You'll need six body pieces and six bolts (and the bolts are kind of backwards, in they are only threaded at the start, not the end. Also, spoiler alert: I'm working on a more interesting version of this at the moment that has planetary gears as bearings in the round bits :D
