Yarn Bowl and some Knit Bowl Updates!

This is where the Catalyst Capsule and Knit Bowl collide!
So, apparently "yarn bowls" are a thing for keeping balls of wool organised during various kinds of activities, and numerous people (including my mother) enthusiastically suggested that maybe the Knit Bowl could be adjusted a little to suit this very purpose. So, here we are!
Now, this all required some engineering changes. The original Knit Bowl just had a lid sit on top, held in place by magnets. All well and good, until you start pulling wool out of a hole, and potentially pull the lid off and defeat the purpose of having the bowl in the first place. So, first step was to rethink the way the lid connected.
Actually, that was the second step - the first step was to scale it all up to actually hold a reasonable amount of yarn! It's now significantly larger, but will still print just fine on a 180mm^3 printer. But back to the lid connection. This new approach involved slotting the lid into place, then turning it slightly to engage meshing parts that hold the lid onto the body, at which point magnets keep things secure. This is probably sounding familiar if you've read the Catalyst Capsule writeup! The mechanism is the same, but oriented a little differently, just to be stylish.

This new version prints exactly the same as the Knit Bowl - both bottom-down, like so:

Knit Bowl Updates!
By popular demand, there's now a crochet hook version! You'll find it in a folder underneath the existing Knit Bowl directory.
And, just to let the knitting needles be easily recoloured without resorting to actual multimaterial printing, there's now a version with the needles printed separately and screwed into place! You'll find this one under the original folder for the knit bowl, too :)
Further Thoughts
I really love it when people find a personal connection with a design!
Somehow I didn't expect the Knit Bowl to get quite the level of interest it has! It originally came from a request from my daughter, and turned into an fun experiment in minimalist representative design for my own amusement, and turned into an interesting functional design problem along the way.
There are still one or two comments and suggestions about improving the design that I'll hopefully get to - any and all such things are always warmly welcomed! Feedback and shared enthusiasm are a huge part of what motivates me :)

I use 6*3mm cylindrical magnets for everything! I just get mine on eBay :)
what is the magnet dimensions you used ? is there any link for the magnet product ?

Blame Covid for the resurgence in home crafts. My family and my wife are all avid knitters and crocheters so looks like Christmas is now sorted thanks to you. One request though, can you have the needles screw in for the yarn bowl as well, and I am sure the crocheters out there would like to have their own yarn bowl version as well
