Square Flasks!
🕑 Added 2020-04-25 14:46:28 +0000 UTCOne final flask design, at least until someone says "hey, what about..." - the square flasks I mentioned in yesterdays Pixel Flask post! These two flasks are in fact the same models, but without the pixel grid bit on the front.
So, those internal ceilings are, as mentioned before, designed for clean and easy printing by easing into the internal threads at a nice forty-five degree angle. And, the screw-in lid is the same model as in all these flasks.
You won't be surprised to know that this was designed first, then the pixel bits added. Just adding a tag in the same style as the Micro Flask seemed uninspired, so a bit of brainstorming later I was pushing tiny squares of coloured plastic into grids :)
But, back to the square flask. For all the fun of the pixel grid, I really like simplicity of the flat square sides here. I will often put textures and features on the sides of these kinds of designs, but for this I decided it was better just like it is.

You'll find these on Dropbox under Square Flasks. The lid model in there is the same as the other flasks, but is included again for convenience.
Printing Tips
This one's pretty straightforward! Both parts print right-way-up, and there's plenty of tolerance in the screw threads to allow for printing and slicing variations. Threaded connections are good that way :)
One Other Thought...
Actually, despite the opener saying this is the final flask design for now, there is one other flask that I did up along the way but didn't publish - I'll put that in this month's retrospective post 😁

Thanks! Mine have been grabbed already and put to use for storing craft supplies :) And I agree, the marble is so good for hiding layer lines! It does a pretty good job of not looking quite as obviously 3D printed as things usually do.

That's eSun's marble PLA. It prints really easily and always looks great, but I do wish they'd add some other colour options!
What filament brand is this? It looks amazing
These flasks are very well done! As I accumulate small screws and nuts I will need to make a few of these to store them. Also I really like that marble filament. It really hides the print lines. Keep up the great work!
