Happy June! Upgrades, Odds and Ends!

Another month whizzes by in a blur of empty filament spools and prototypes! And, as usual, there are a few bits and pieces that are worth mentioning lest they disappear forever into the distant past, forgotten and unloved!
Dropbox locations are at the end, so scroll down there for the list. But let's start with something I put together for my own purposes:
Cable Coiler
Boy do I love overengineering! I had some cables that needed organising, and rather than simply coil them up and use a clip I made this thing! I have a few of them mounted under a cabinet, keeping cables out of the way. It's exactly what it looks like - a reel for winding a cable around, plus two screw components that can hold the incoming and outgoing ends.
Nothing tricky about this print - all designed for straightforward printing, and the tolerance on the screw threads is nice and generous!
Coral Hex Bloom
This version predates the already-published Hex Bloom in all its hexagonal-holed glory! However, you'll notice that there are separate spacers between the pieces. While it's nice that they can be a different colour, the last side can be a bit of a pain to get in place because of them. Maybe assemble that last side facing downwards, so that dropping the spacer doesn't land it inside the dodecahedron...
Other than the need for spacers it's all the same as Hex Bloom in terms of printing and assembly!
Separate Lid for the Swingtop Bin!
By popular demand, here's a version of the Swingtop Bin that has the lid separate to the body! This makes it much easier to scale up, since you aren't constrained to fit both on the printer bed at once. As a bonus, the body now prints bottom-down, which means it has a conventional flat base and thus slightly increased capacity. The lid itself still prints with the swinging lid in place :)
Undecorated (and taller) Diagonal Slider Box
Yes, it's the Diagonal Slider Box, but without the hexagons all over it! Particularly the lid. This is the version for you if you want to add your own text / name / favourite metal band name onto the lid.
There's also a second version of the base that's 20mm taller, just in case you have more pencils to carry around!

I like that idea! You'd need to wind it in from the middle, of course, and both would need to come out at the same time... or the second end would have to rotate too.. hmm... :D

Like all your other models, the Cord Coiler is brilliant! If you get the urge to tinker with it, what about making the circular prong section rotatable for winding? You could loosen one of the nuts just enough to pull out the length of cord you need, and then tighten it up again. And when you're done, just wind it back up the same way. Just a thought - I know that these things take a lot of engineering and work!
I printed a couple of the cord coilers. I like them. They work well for my 2-3 m USB cables. What do you think of a hook that can clip to the back, between the ears and top triangle, to allow for easy hanging?

It should scale up pretty well, but let me know if you have any problems doing so!
Love the cord coiler.. Might need to scale up for some thicker cords but it's such a great way to coil and mount them out of the way.
