Cleanup Script for Windows v. 1.3

This script deletes the following data:
onlinethumbnailcache (folder and all files)

localthumbcache.package (file)

Starting from version 1.3, the houseDescription-client.package file is excluded from automatic deletion, as deleting it may result in household descriptions not being saved, according to forum information.
Files are not deleted automatically (because sometimes you need them, for example, to send logs to mod authors) - to clean them you need to double-click the script once. No other files will be deleted - not from the Mods folder, not from the Saves folder or any other. All your data is safe!
I have added a check to the script to make sure the user running it has admin rights, if not, it will automatically restart under admin rights (asking for permission to do so). I don't know if this will solve the problem some users have reported (that the script doesn't do anything). Please let me know.
🚨 How to use this script
This is not a mod, but a self-executable batch script. You should not copy this *.bat file into the mod folder, but directly into your The Sims 4 folder (where you see the "Mods", "Saves" and "Tray" folders). Double-clicking the script will execute it and all the folders and files listed above will be deleted from your computer. You can read more about what files will be deleted here. Why you need to delete cache and user files, read here.
If you are afraid to run this script, you can make sure that it only deletes the listed files by opening this script in any text editor and looking at the list of files to delete in the commands.
If you have any other logs or temporary files that should be added to the script, please let me know, and I'll update it right away. Feel free to send me the details, and I'll make the necessary adjustments promptly.

My browser gave me the warning, then my antivirus, then it asked for admin permissions, and now it works for me as it should, but not before my mistake of placing it on mods folder despite the clear instructions. Now it's on the right one, so it's working wonderfully!

I downloaded it a while ago and took some months to focus on studies. Now I'm back to The Sims and this was one of the first things I looked for. I just can NOT play without this cleaning everything for me on one click, instead of going through them all one by one! Thank you so much for making this!

What andirz has posted isnt a mod, it just cleans the cache from the game which is good for game performance and such. That goes in the sims 4 folder, by itself (no folders like mods, save, tray, etc). hope this helps ( like this: Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4)

hello, fastest way to do that is to get tmex mod called better exceptions it will tell you exactly what mods are broken. also you cam try to repair your game, go where you are on either ea app or origin, whichever one you use (windows uses ea app and the mac one uses origin) and click on the 3 dots same place you go to to click on the play button to play sims, by clicking on the 3 dots in the library section it will have a option to repair. If you need to reinstall the game its ok, i do it all the time, on the platforms like origin and ea app both (i have ea app), when you repair or uninstall/reinstall, which i do all the time, you dont lose anything not even your mods, house, family, etc everything is still in the memory .and remembered . but if you want to keep your same house and family, dont delete anything in the save folder at all. But if you want to start over with a brand new family then you can delete the stuff in the save folder.

There may be several reasons for failure: 1) you are not on Windows, 2) you did not place this file according to the instructions; 3) your account has limited rights and you cannot run such scripts; 4) your antivirus blocks execution of the script. There are no other reasons, the script works as it should.

And I'll probably cancel the deletion of houseDescription-client.package, because the forums say that in some cases the description of households can be lost when deleting it. I don't know, but it's probably better to return it back.

It looks like you have broken mods. This tool will not fix that. You need to delete the broken mods.

I am able to play for maybe 10mins tops and then everything stops. The plumbob will continue to spin, I can cancel actions but my sims just stands there. I am able to pull up the menu to save and exit but then I get the forever loading screen. I've been trying for 4 days to fix it and finally decided to reach out for help.
