I think Malika should go first, because there's a good chance she'll be able to adapt to any changes quickly and I wouldn't want to change Mato's aura before he's out for an hour over shapeshifter changes

Fixed the costs - looks like I broke it in the previous chapter too.

I like that chapter title! Seems like Calen did indeed pick Realm Hunter. > This time, however, he found himself facing an entirely different choice. > Reachable Nodes:
> +20% spell power to Tracking skills.
> +20% spell power to Perception skills. Huh. Interesting... (Also, you're missing the node costs here.) > Explorer gains Inexorable Pursuit (Track and follow the fading mana remnants of movement skills wherever they go. Even across realms). Cost: 4 This sounds really cool! The only issue is that it seems following an opponent to another realm requires them to use a movement skill. I don't think it works if they're already there. > Spirit Arrows
> You have been trained by a master and mentored by a legend. You are a Realm Hunter and Rift Warden, proficient at hunting in the Spirit Realm. Your peerless archery pierces all, clearing the battlefield before you.
> Traits: Intelligence, Mastery, Light, Critical Damage, Archery, Area.
> Path Length: 6
> Reachable Nodes:
> +25% to Critical Damage. Cost: 1
> +15 to intelligence. Cost: 1
> Quality: Uncommon
> Path – Keystone Man, that sounds good! > Sudden Death
> You have trained at the peerless Pathfinders Guild and mentored by Lyeneru Silverleaf herself. By having achieved a one-shot kill on a monster higher than your own level, you have unlocked the path of Sudden Death. Deepen your understanding of Power Shot, Ambush, and Stealth, delivering devastating unseen destruction with your bow.
> Traits: Dexterity, Archery, Critical Damage, Ambush, Stealth.
> Path Length: 7
> Reachable Nodes:
> +25% to Critical Damage. Cost: 1
> +15 to dexterity. Cost: 1
> Quality: Uncommon
> Path – Keystone Oh man! That's the main path Mori took, isn't it?! > Radiant Archery gains Piercing Spirit Arrows. (+Mastery, +Area traits. Your arrows become partially anchored in the spirit realm, granting incorporeality and the ability to penetrate most physical objects and barriers.) Cost: 5
> Radiant Archery gains Abundant Spirit Arrows (+Mastery, +Area traits. Spirit echoes enhance your bow: You can conjure +3 arrows with multishot.)
+50% to Critical Strike rating. Cost: 4 Those both sound great! He already has armor piercing, though, and that extra Critical Strike rating sounds good. Plus, three more arrows! > He couldn’t know for certain until they faced a new dungeon, but against swarms of monsters, piercing them to hit the ones behind would be far greater damage than just increasing his multishot arrow count. Good point. But wait. Was the option for increasing Critical Strike rating supposed to be separate from Abundant Spirit Arrows? Or maybe not there at all? > Overwhelming Onslaught
> You have steadfastly eschewed the easy path to damage. Your persistence and commitment to your ideals have opened a path to follow your mentor. Let the rain of your arrows become an overwhelming onslaught, sweeping your foes asunder.
> Traits: Haste, Light, Intelligence, Dexterity, Perception, Ranged.
> Path Length: 3
> Reachable Nodes:
> +1 Intelligence per class level above 100. Cost: 1
> +1 Dexterity per class level above 100. Cost: 1
> +1 Perception per class level above 100. Cost: 1
> Quality: Uncommon
> Path – Keystone This path sounds quite good. He's obviously being rewarded for continually turning down single-target damage. > Righteous Fury gains Onslaught (+Haste trait. +3% (normal), +5% (boss), or +7% (raid boss) chance per hit to gain Onslaught for [skill / 5] seconds. Onslaught: + [skill] % Ranged haste.) Cost: 4 This sounds really good! Especially given how many hits Calen tends to get. > Your class has become Realm Hunter.
> You have greatly increased the reputation of your patron. Nice! > everywhere he looked, strange gray ghostly outlines swirled about everything like slightly delayed echoes of whatever he saw He can indeed see the Spirit Realm. > as he’d hoped, his enchantments triggered on every subsequent strike Nice! > “Why is everyone shooting through my barriers now?” Ali grumbled. “It’s a barrier, it’s supposed to stop things!” LUL > “Yay!” Ali shrieked, clapping her hands together in glee. Cute! > He didn’t see colors like Ali described her skill – his skill was more like what Malika had – flickers and wispy tendrils of light that swirled in response to the spell formation. Hmmm... This seems significant somehow. I wonder if Ali is able to distinguish different affinities with her mana sight due to her golden mana. > He reached toward the magical trail left by the witch doctor’s Spirit Walk movement skill, and suddenly he was there. > The gray world of the Spirit Realm descended like a flickering and shifting veil. The now-solid witch doctor stood calmly gazing at him, but he was not the only source of color this time. Calen’s own body seemed to be perfectly normal here. Sweet! > “It’s like you made an echo of the Spirit Walk skill? With the wrong mana affinity. And you don’t even have the skill.” Interesting... > “Yes,” Calen said, grinning back. “How about you provide all the different movement skills you can make, and I’ll let you study it as much as you want?” > “Yay!” Ali whooped, jumping up and down, a mannerism that looked surprisingly Naia-like. LUL. I wouldn't be surprised if this helps Ali unlock affinity translation.

Mato has a dread mentor, and already turns into a tree. Ent form is a must...

TheIronDragon

Ive been loving the class evolutions! Its very validating for all the stuff the party has been through. I'm so excited to see what Malika and Mato get! I hope Mato gets a dragon form! Thank you for the chapter!

Most probably

BerciTheBeast

Ali isn't so much area as she is multiple targeted attack steeams via minions. + some area via mages... but Calen _can_ also focus his arrow duplicates on the same target, i think?

Stuart Nathan

Oooh wonder what this means when he sees Sunstrider...

Drakenclaw

Thanks for the chapter. Interesting that Calen continues to go for an AoE build. Ali kind of covers that slot in the team already. What they don't really have is a specialized single target boss killer. It's kind of strange to me that Calen with all the smarts he exhibits doesn't really consider that. He was set up very well to slot into that gap in the group's capability, but decided to go the AoE route instead. I wonder how much that is hero worship and attempting to copy his mentor.

CherMi

This following of movement skills is actually really dangerous, because he has no way of knowing where he's going. Or changing it, even if he knows somehow. He needs to keep the ability a secret and even then a prepared paranoid enemy might leave some traps after their movement skills.

Robert Mullins

I wonder if he if he can follow recall potions?

SpaceFan839

Looks like Malika is going to go last, she is going to be too busy helping Calen not have a headache that Mato will end up going before her.

Robert Mullins

2 more team members to hit first.

Robert Mullins

The important thing is that motes of light allow him to follow without losing a way back. At least, so long as he only does a single jump. Actually I suppose it doesn't matter how many jumps he does as long as his mote stays where it started. But he will need to drop a noticeable mote at every intermediate spot if he wants to back track for some reason. Depending of course on how long the skill echoes last.

Kensyi

I am eagerly waiting for Ali to let Vivian know she can fix her class.

Alexix

Thank you for the chapter. It was delicious!
