This society feels like one that would respect honor. I think the offering of the shrine is good and in keeping with Ali's character, we all know she'd say yes at the asking and insist once told of their plight, but the spreading the information that she's a dungeon would be ill received. Malika should have said "she inherited it and she allows all to use it freely in honor of her parents memory" which would be much more in keeping with both their characters. Rezan could push for more information and Malik could respond with some fashion of "she saved me (the explanation of that you already put) and so I am bound by honor to say no more of her secrets. She will welcome you and those wanting to access her family's shrine peacefully, but I beg you all no more for I shall say naught. You may ask her next you meet, as it is her story to tell should she wish." No betrayal of trust or betrayal of character and can create conflict and mystery, at least to Rezan, for the story advancement. Or this sour tasting betrayal which will probably have Malika kidnapping the girl to get her to the shrine before she becomes a farmer.

Like an incredibly powerful elven pathfinder finding a dungeon yet everything works out? You're forgetting the dungeon's welcome committee includes an ancient dryad which demands respect of everyone without uttering a word except for necromancers

Malika know it was wrong to tell somebody Ali’s secret, and did it anyways… granted it is no longer a secret anymore to the extent that the entire city knows about it. still it’s kind of selfish of Malika to reveal this without Ali’s consent, especially since Malika thought it was wrong herself. Ali probably would’ve been fine with helping this girl pick a class if Malika suggested it to Ali first and then offered. Idk this just felt pretty slimy coming from Malika. I understand that Malika is trying to help out somebody else, but in this case malika is volunteering her friend to help out and Malika herself is just a middleman in this situation. You kinda have to be choosy with who you help for your own sanity, and in this case, the sanity and safety of your friends. This is like one of your friends needs a haircut badly and so you offer to help your friend get a haircut by getting another one of your friends to fix it without consulting the other friend. And if the other friend doesn’t want to fix a strangers hair, you now either feel bad or you feel obligated to do it anyways. This might just leave a bad taste in my mouth because there are a lot of people who are trying to get something out of Ali, and especially the shrine, so it feels a little shitty that one of Ali’s friends is also doing this extent.

"Dungeons bad. A dungeon break killed my family. Blah blah blah blah", the one nice 'Dungeon' within in the area is one of the nicest person you've every seen and also older than all of you and has the trauma to prove it.... they are all just wimps

Kieran may be working down his list of minions - Tala next?

There's a difference between bringing the elder into the dungeon (even though they only need to bring the girl) without telling him anything about it Vs literally blurting out your best friend's closest secret, that she just had huge life threatening trauma about without needing to, first thing into the conversation.

CherMi

There might have been complications once the incredibly powerful elder got there and saw the dungeon domain. I'm pretty sure everyone surviving that would be a miracle.

Scott McCarthy

"It was her fathers" simple and true.

Adrian Secchia

Ordinarily yes - but this guy had some way to conceal it.

Dero_Dore

well this flame assassin was utterly random

CherMi

Nothing new and interesting at level 50? I don't remember milestone levels, but this seems significant. Also really hope they'll somehow deal with prejuice against Ali, it's natural reaction to dungeons, but reading it again and again from every new character is going to get old.

BenjiVoid

I think she should have just said she has access to a shrine. I don't see why she would reveal more than that, especially with her knowledge of Ali.

BenjiVoid

Shouldn't her mana sight have revealed the fireball and invisibility?
