Cypha

Uhh, this is ominous. I hope Ali talks with someone about the archmages apparent problem and doesn't keep it to herself.

Raven

"I’ll need to be careful with the council. Councils. Both the Shadow Council and the Council of Archmages" it says it in this chapter. Remember she saw tethers of darkness coming from outside the dungeon that were giving strength to the final form twin that she severed to win the battle?

Antony Claughton

Also, why didn’t Ali ask how he got the book? Surely it should have either been taken by the lich or remained in the city’s ruins. It raises the question of if the Lich gave it out, with a trap attached.

Antony Claughton

Lovely chapter. Very touching. I would like to see the discussion on what the dark tendrils mean.

Adrian Secchia

Good call - fixed this.

Drakenclaw

Yeah. I agree with you Tarrim. To me the "managing" of the shadow council is more plotting against them and counteracting their plans.

HornboozeWFG

Pops gave her his shrine and basically the city and mom gave her time stop and a God book.... best parents ever. And this still proves how much of an dingus nevlyn is.... Also get scammed idiot-Nathaniel

Tarrim

I don't think he is on the shadow council. I don't read his statement about managing the shadow council that way. Even if he was the ali stuff seemingly comes from Neven Eld so he wouldn't be able to stop it.

Ahmed Mendil

The message through time from her mother made me cry like a little boy

Pholt

Hang on, I just realized that Aliandra probably can tie the books to her dungeon, so that way they would never be lost as long as her dungeon covers the Library. It may even be possible that ppl could take books out of the library to keep, and the the books would just respawn afrer some time. That sure is gonna be a major revolution in the spread of knowledge, bringing about a new age of magical progress. And reading Darkenclaw's comment, Ali may eventually even be able to create low level "library scribes", bosses with the Arcane Aura skills, making them able to use her Grimoire to copy books. ppl could just bring books, and they would automatically be copied, tied to her dungeon, translated, and placed in the Library, all if that without any input from Aliandra.

CherMi

The upside here (aside from the book) is that he decided to leave Ali alive. As member of shadow council, maybe he will recall them for now. Ali and the party need time to grow and level before the confrontations with powers that be. Also just writing "decided to leave Ali alive" rankles me. I hope they will wipe out that whole shadow council with prejuice when they're strong enough.

Drakenclaw

Really? He is on the Shadow Council? I must have missed that, which chapter was that revealed? Also I thought the tendrils where from the Ancient Scyring Stone he used? I don't recall any weird tendrils during the Twin Wight fight. Just that the Blind Lich teleported in and took the shrine.

Raven

He is on the Shadow Council. That is the enemy organization made by the lich. The tendrils at his back were the same she's seen before but doesn't seem to remember from her boss battle to end the bone and death dungeon. He is absolutely the enemy's servant unless you go for the he's being controlled against his will.

Drakenclaw

Thanks for the chapter: "Its insouciant manner made her smile slightly despite the nausea clawing at her gut." -> should probably be "want to smile slightly or something like that as she is still frozen. Also I do wonder what the Arcane Aura will do for bosses? Make them cast random spells Ali has?

Drakenclaw

He is also very old and probably has seen, and done, a lot of crap. I don't want to know how many false reports of "finding Dal’mohra" he got in his lifetime. He is definitely incredible arrogant and self centered and sees others as less important. That is true. Definitely not a nice person, but maybe not an actual enemy? Though that is definitely a possibility.

Scott McCarthy

When Ali eventually relocates the shrine to the library, so she never has to leave the library anymore, it will end up being one of the floor bosses.

Lijwent

That book can probably give her quite the skill levels, and it's somehow alive too!

Prana

The question is whether he is naturaly that way or if the Blind Lich is affecting his decision making

Raven

Well, he's also the enemy though it doesn't seem like he realizes his boss's prize is right before him. His boss also won't care about that book, maybe the fact that his work was found again but not the book he wrote himself.

Scyfe

Cheeky book

Ulsar

thanks for the chapter

Scott McCarthy

Nathaniel continues to not impress. He discarded information he was directly told form someone who should be trustworthy, because he did not want to believe it, and he at no point is thinking about Ali as a person. Then if Lyra was not there, he would have gone full thief and stolen the lich's book because "she can not be trusted" likely killing Ali in the process. Though I am more and more suspecting the Trolls shrine is both key to their "superiority" and another dungeon, but they are not admitting that to anyone.

Dero_Dore

JFC poor girl didn't need a trauma dump :( give all the hugs to Ali!

WolfKing69

First. I have so many questions. But most of all I want to know what Ali will learn by cross referencing those two books. PREPARE THE POWER CREEP
