It depends, I think, if it’s earned by individual contribution or as a group. No doubt Ali is by far the most powerful and directly impactful of the party. The more the score is weighed towards individual contribution the less they’ll get compared to her. Still they’ve all been involved in world changing events so it’s going to be a lot however you look at it. My bet is either the exact same amount if it’s group based, or low two hundreds if it’s more individual. Any less and there will be a power imbalance that will hurt the story.

Now kinda curious how much authority (can’t help thinking of it as Authoritai) the party will have when they hit 250

BP

We don’t know that actually. So far all we have seen is that one group that were considered powerful for this region. But this is only one part of one world. Could be super strong followers of Helios elsewhere. But I agree. Mostly likely issues will be political and threats to her, well, people really.

Kensyi

But her power isn't in a combat class, I believe that to still be true. She might be able to help elsewhere like maybe helping Basil and the alchemy lady (cannot remember her name) or maybe through growing reagents for the towns, or helping to repopulate animals in the area, I don't know what her World Tree class now entails but I assume she is still a non-combatant class.

Kensyi

I imagined him as silver, my mind went holy is silver and void is black, and he is a silver and black dragon.

Julia G

For this part: "she took in several bleeding slashes through his dark dragon scales." Up until now I had imagined Azryet with golden scales, maybe there was some early description I didn't fully internalize 😅 Now my mental image while reading is doing some flip flopping trying to recalibrate

Azryet specifically mentioning Helios is concerning. Either he observed his followers and learned which gods are present in their realm, or Helios is much more ancient and powerful than we assumed so far. It might make some sense, because conflict with Helios fanatics is incoming, but Ali is already far too strong to be in physical danger from them.

Bees4Real

I'm not sure they have time. It's been mentioned repeatedly they have a few days at most before he returns and tries to press his level advantage. This is going to be a race. If there was confidence they he could have baited him to pop out near Azryet again that might have been a smarter plan to keep him pinned while they tried to power level, but honestly they can't know for sure. If they try and it doesn't work they've lost the advantage for no gain, conversely now they can try without a strong 3rd evolution mucking things up. If they fail they're in no worse a place than if they had tried to bait him and failed.

AutumnLeaves

I believe that's how she earned the 306 Authority before reaching level 250.

AutumnLeaves

Maybe Azryet will be all in going forward, no accounting debt between gods or something like that? There's certainly another layer we're not aware of here.

The reputation of her dwellers is one thing. But how much reputation does she get through the guild, those using her shrine or anvil that just met her from the offer of unequalled generosity she provided? How much pending reputation does she not hold from when knowledge of her and her restoring of two wells (recall that the entire realm was made aware of those events, but not made aware of the parties involved) as well as the ancient city of Dal'Mohra, Ciradyl, Aman Rak, pending Aalion, and upcoming dwarf and troll places that might just fall into her domain...

This interaction seems important. Any thoughts on how it might come up again? ——————————————— “I think the time of counting debt passed when you showed me how to save Lira,” Ali said. Truly, that was a debt she would never be able to repay. The Dragon God rumbled deep in his throat, but, after a moment, he nodded. “I concur.” The depth of meaning-within-meaning implicit in his statement briefly caused Ali’s Sage of Learning to tingle, much to her surprise. How did he… what was that?

So, if Lira has consumed all of that potential... Does that mean she's going to be more of an active force now? She's always been respected by her allies... But I'm hoping that now she can actually display some of that power.

Bad Timing

Thanks. Now looking forward to Southport's action now that the lich armies left.

AutumnLeaves

I really hope they wait to get the rest of the party to the second tier before attacking Nevyn Eld. They can't be far from it... maybe 10 to 15 levels?

AutumnLeaves

Nice to get some answers about Authority. Lol, Azryet accidentally deleting the saucer when Ali said she had 49 when she reached the 1st tier.

Michael

Only Timewalk knows for sure, but my model is that there is a threshold below which little or no authority is given. Say that a point of authority is normally triggered by a (great) knowledge or mastery advance which would tithe 1,000 points of XP. A single 1,000 point advance immediately generates a point of authority. It might take twenty 100 point advances to build to that point of authority, while even a thousand 10 point advances might not be enough. This is consistent with Azyret’s comment that great followers are a better path to authority than numerous ones.

so if I'm understanding this correctly, any Knowledge or Mastery skill advancement by those in her domain (which covers Cyradil, Aman Rak, Myrin's Keep, and Dal'Mohra) will give her Authority? Isn't that... a lot? or is it only Knowledge stuff inside the Grand Library Arcana that does it?
