Looking at movies, tv shows and other media from the late 1900s, it appears that there used to be such a time, where topless women were regarded quite normally qnd not overly sexualised. I wonder what changed since then... 🤔

That'll be a very nice thing to see when it finally happens. Not just on this specific art/historic subject, but in general as well. Men can walk outside topless any questions asked, comments given or without a second glance, it should be just the same for women if they want to do so.

Yup, toplessness was a thing in different cultures, even some relatively modern ones as well, we can thank religion mostly for the changes. The Thai, had topless costume, for example until about 100 or so years ago.

There was also early 18th century french court fashion. All the current movies about this period use English court fashion from the same era.

In the South African town I grew up in in the 70's and 80's, it was illegal for men to appear topless in public, except at swimming pools

For people to stop acting weird around boobs. Boobs need to be a common thing to see in non sexual context. So lets call this movement "Free the tiddy"!
