I just got an email from CGTrader that they are temporarily stopping payments to Russian artists, also they have hidden all models of Russian artists on their site and most likely you will not be able to find my models on this site.
I have already spoken on the discord about the situation between Russia and Ukraine, I repeat: The vast majority of the Russian people do not support the government, and we are sorry to the Ukrainian people, there is no excuse for Putin and I hope that this will end soon (although every day I believe less and less in it).
You can say why you (Russians) do not go to rallies or why you vote for Putin in elections. So that you understand how things are in our country (from my eyes): For the past few years, all independent media have been subjected to the most severe repressions, they were not allowed to work in peace, peaceful rallies are dispersed by the national army, people are intimidated, on TV on all channels they show only propaganda in which they blame all countries for everything and say what a good president we have. In the last week (when this "special operation" began - that's what they say on our TV and most Russians understand that this is a war). People continue to go to rallies with the word "no war" and for this they will be imprisoned with a criminal term, since we have forbidden at the legislative level to call it a war. They introduced a law with a criminal term of up to 15 years in prison, to those media that will call it a war and will distribute information that differs from the official information of Russia, as a result of this, ALL independent media were closed in 3 days. They assign criminal terms for posts in social networks for the same reasons for dissent. All trading and other companies turned away from us and continue to turn away from us, they imposed sanctions on us as soon as we find ourselves under an iron curtain. All artists, musicians, bloggers and other media creators will now not receive a salary if they did not work in Russia. Due to the fact that everything is closed here, many acquaintances have simply lost their already low-paid jobs. The exchange rate of the ruble has fallen by half, which means that essential products have risen sharply in price twice. Also from the little things, most sites are now opened only through VPN (facebook, twitter, instagramm, etc.), the government simply blocked them, because there is "fake information". I'm tired of keeping it to myself, I'm depressed and I would like to speak out.
Perhaps after recovery, I will move to any country that does not close the borders for us for the time in which I can withdraw money from PayPal, Payoneer, so that my wife and I have something to eat and how to live.
In conclusion, I would like to repeat Putin is not Russia, people do not want war, people want a quiet peaceful life. No war.

I am so sorry you are depressed. I can only imagine the shame and fear you are feeling. Please keep hope in knowing Americans do not blame the people of Russia. We have learned over the years what happens when Russians try for good elections or protest and it causes fear watching because we know the cost. We currently watch the protests in Russia and watch the destruction in Ukraine. It's horrifying and we hope it ends soon. There's lots of prayers for both sides and a lot of people trying to figure out ways to help. I want you and every Russian to one day have a peaceful life and I know the sanctions were a huge debate because no one wants to hurt every day citizens. I hope it helps pressure Putin to backoff from this senseless violence.

It is clear that the Ukrainians are much worse than us, and I myself support these sanctions and understand why they are needed. I didn't like that CGTrader hid all the models from their sites, he could, just like other sites (the same Patreon), suspend payments until this is over. It's their business and their decision. I hope, as you said, soon the Putin regime will change and our citizens will be able to live in a free democratic country.

While economic sanctions play important roles in international disputes, it's truly unfortunate the it's the every-day folks that disproportionately suffer the effects, rather than the leaders and elites that cause the issues in the first place. hello, im writing from poland, and i would like to also cast some light on this matter. first of all, i think we are all sorry for your really bad situation. and i can assure you, here, we have a very strong resentiment towards russians, carried out from generation to generation. we are however aware, that people of russia are not to blame directly. personally, i even think the russian soldiers are often victims of the very propaganda you are telling us about. but on the other side of the story, in ukraine, there are people loosing everything they had. there is no other way of discourage putin from the aggression other than to target the economy. we are also aware, that russians will not overthrow your government. so as much as i can show empathy to your situation, we have our hearts with the real victims - the ukrainians. it is a vicious circle. i just hope, the end of it is near, that someone like navalny will take over, and that this time we will not fail our russian brothers (we did that in the 90ies in jelcyns time) and we will help you guys to become a free nation and a free society. but right now, we have one million refugees to take care of. and... guess what, our "democratic" government dont give a shit, the all help comes from the common people. i sincerelly hope one day soon we can all have a shot of stolychnaya, and live in peace

The peoples of Ukraine and Russia are both in my thoughts and prayers. I've seen the protests in St. Petersburg and across Russia and can only hope this is represents the majority. The propaganda machine of your government is probably number 2 in the world and it will be a difficult struggle to overcome it.
