Sophie Anders

You are so very right!

Sophie Anders

Haha that's okay! I imagine the outros have themes and significance so don't want to watch it just yet just in case!

ProudWararar

Ah right, makes sense. Yea I knew that about the intro's just kinda forgot about the outros lol

Sophie Anders

I won't be watching the intros and outros until I've finished the series because I intend to analyse how they thematically connect to the story arcs including foreshadowing and imagery. I can't do that until I've watched the entire show and understand the context! :)

ProudWararar

Kind of off topic but not really, when you will be watching the intros at the end, will you also watch the endings?

Reginald

Omg i said “i dont respect” I MEANT I DO. I am not that mean i swear😅

flyingbread

enjoy the show the way you want it. You'll never please everyone and to be frank, I'd rather watch someone who is authentic than someone trying to please everyone. Most of us and the silent viewers will appreciate your reactions regardless.

Dagmar Makara

No worries Sophie! I hope you enjoy all the coming episodes : )

Anna Kyruin

I've seen it go both ways, but I think more often they do watch it. There are other traditions too, like try to convince the reactor that Eren dies when they finish S1E5 :D

Sophie Anders

It really isn't that big of an issue. It's so minor and you weren't the only one haha! There were a lot of comments but I put it down to excitement and passion more than anything.

Critical

Sorry about that. I may have been the first person to mention it, but irdk. Regardless, I shouldn't have made a comment about it.

Sophie Anders

Yes, but as the creator I have the final say on what I do with my content which is what people need to remember. I did it to gauge opinions but I highly doubt watching it is going to ruin anything upcoming otherwise they never would have used it as a teaser :)

Sophie Anders

OH SO THIS IS A THING?! I imagine the 'don't watch' end up losing the battle often as it seems like most reactors watch it? Right?

Reginald

Fair enough, i would like to also that the majority stated voted for you to not watch it. But i dont respect your decision and there is still so gash damn much that will explode your mind with this show so ya

Sevenpsych

It's just a hype teaser; people need to chill. Watching it is how most people saw the show and they all turned out fine.

Anna Kyruin

I think the problem is more that people have been fighting over whether the reactors should watch this end credits since it first aired and that has formed some kind of AOT community civil war XD Battle Lines Drawn etc. You're just the latest victim. I'm sorry you had to go through all the drama.

Sophie Anders

The way I see it - I've been right with a lot of my theories and I've always been happy to be proven right so I don't really see much changing. No single teaser should have the power to ruin an entire story arc, because if it did then it would indicate serious concerns about the writing. I really doubt it's going to change how I approach S3 P2 - all I wish is that no one has confirmed that it was 100% a reoccurring scene as that does take some of the mystery out of it :)

Sophie Anders

1000% respect your view. Yeah, I wasn't aware because I hadn't seen it so I just presumed it was similar to 1 x 25 and was a post-credit scene and nothing more! That's all I was initially told and then when the discussion arose, people outright confirmed that it was a future scene so now I know that it does change the perspective quite a bit when looking at it haha!

Man Lit

I'm sorry about that, but I assumed you were already aware that it was a teaser of something in the future. I feel like it would be better to avoid it and sidestep all of this because you are right, the way you engage with that scene is affected by this discussion we are having and you now have certain expectations about that teaser. Ideally, the teaser should have been a surprise. I am fine with you seeing it, I am not gonna get mad and start making a fuss. I just think you won't (especially with this entire discussion about it and now having certain assumptions about it) find it worth it. Just my worries, anyways looking forward to seeing more of your analysis!

Anna Kyruin

As I said from the beginning, it was my preference you don't, but totally fine if you do. It didn't ruin my experience of s3p2 so sure it will not ruin yours. I WISH I could go back in time and tell myself to skip it though.

Sophie Anders

My mind is BLOWN

Sophie Anders

That's a great question. I don't watch them now because I know there's symbolism and foreshadowing that's better understood once the series is watched as a whole. It's not necessarily for risk of spoilers but more I will understand them better once I've seen the entirety of the show. I don't want to just do a standard react to them but I want to analyse how the intros and outros contribute to the themes and narrative arc of that series. It's unlikely something any reactor has done before so I wanted to wait until I knew more so I could better analyse it and expand upon the imagery in a literary manner :)

Reginald

I do have a question, how come you dont watch the openings then, they are also in the anime and intended to be watched. NOT SAYING YOU SHOULD, i dont want you to, its a better experience after you know the entire full story. But your logic can be used to argue watching the openings and closings. Do you get what i mean?

Reginald

Sorry for my part in revealing that

krizalid117

Can't wait for you to watch those :p it only gets better and better from here.

Sophie Anders

I do respect your opinion and I don't want you think you can't voice it by any means - it's a tough situation sometimes as a content creator because we can never please everyone you know? I am on 3 x 4 haha! Aiming to get 3 x 5 and 3 x 6 done today too!

krizalid117

Welp, I'm sorry for writing that comment and hurting you. It really was not my intention. I could try to explain why I wrote it but I think it would go nowhere and just end up hurting you more. Anyway, hope you don't feel bad and continue reacting, cuz I love your content.

Sophie Anders

I'm not blaming people nor am I saying that people weren't right in what they choose. I wanted to gauge opinions as I had received comments PRIOR to the poll and already was told that it was a scene that would reoccur. Which is not something that I would have known if not told. Nor am I blaming anyone. I merely am saying don't confirm what isn't concrete to me as a first time watcher who hasn't seen it. We don't know how I would have taken it upon watching nor will we. The issue isn't telling me about the post-credit. The issue is saying 'categorically this scene happens in a later episode' which alters my perception. If I had not know that I would not have approached with the idea of "oh this is going to definitively happen in the show." I think you've massively misinterpreted what I said. The issue isn't warning about a teaser. It's saying that this scene happens. Good intentions can still end up being a spoiler inadvertently by confirming something I had no knowledge. For all I would have known it could have just been a hint but never reoccurred in full. What may be obvious to you may not have been my interpretation on watching either. We can't assume that to be the case and now we'll never know because I KNOW that the scene happens in the show later on. There was no blame. I outright just said for people to be mindful of not confirming. If people had just said "the teaser could be a spoiler" that's fine. Saying "this teaser is a scene that plays out in future episodes" that is inadvertently spoiling no matter how good intentioned it may appear. Polls are to gauge and allow people to make their case but I ultimately am going to make the decision that I believe is best for myself and my channel. I apologise if my comment is coming across aggressive but you've made a lot of assumptions that are not at all what I said or inferred. It's merely a reminder that even a good intentioned act when explained in detail but confirms something I had no knowledge of is a spoiler in itself. It would have been best to just allow me to watch it because we, again, do not know how I would have responded to it with no knowledge of it being confirmed as a future point. I am not blaming anyone. I am not accusing people. Nor am I 'overthrowing a vote because I didn't get my own way' which is rather hurtful in its insinuation. I am merely saying that in excitement people let slip more than they should and I get it, but to keep it in mind for the future to not confirm anything that is not confirmed by myself first as the first time watcher. Edit; I'm in the middle of filming so apologies if this comes across blunt but I'm not going to pretend that the assumptions made aren't hurtful and that I'm not somewhat upset either because you know - I am human and all. I get where you are coming from but I was not at all blaming anyone merely reminding people to not confirm anything in future even a teaser they might believe to be a spoiler. I think you've misinterpreted what I said and took it perhaps personally because you were on the side of me not wanting to watch to watch it. Maybe that's on me for not explaining it more thoroughly but it is not at all a personal judgement on anyone for their opinion or choice. I am damned if I watch it and damned if I don't ultimately. No one is going to be happy so of course I have to prioritise myself.

krizalid117

When you see the scene, it's pretty obvious it's in the future. There's no way you think it's something dreamt or a flashback. Us telling you not to watch a teaser is not a spoiler itself, at least not in this scenario. I don't really know how to came to that conclusion tbh. I recommended not to watch the scene for all the reasons already mentioned, but it's fine if you watch it, like, it's not a spoiler it's just a teaser. The funny thing is, you put up a vote when you already had a decision in mind. When the vote did not go your way you decided to discard it. I mean, I understand it's your channel and you do whatever you want with it, but at least don't blame people warning you of a teaser scene and call them spoilers. Anyway, it's not really that important of scene in the grand scheme of things, probably will forget all about it by season 4 lol. EDIT: I re-read my comment and I think it came up too aggressive or defensive. Not my intention, love your reactions :( just commenting on the "don't tell me about teasers" stuff cuz in my mind doesn't seem like a good excuse to discard a community vote.

NFM NFM

man, this show is for sure one of a kind in every sense good choice!

Violet

I'm glad you're still doing what you want 🤪

Sophie Anders

It already was - it was out the bag before I made the poll so not on you! Numerous people slipped up and it was with good intention but even good intentions can have unintended consequences haha!

Violet

Sorry! When I saw other people talking about the scene, I figured the cat was out of the bag. I'll refrain from engaging in those convos in the future

Zwei

Ah ok. I don't know if you recall what I said in one of my other comments. Crunchyroll is quite good at letting you know if there's an extra scene. On newer shows, if there isn't an extra, skip ending/preview will appear. If there is one, those buttons shouldn't show

Aki Himura

Makes sense! I look forward to watch your reactions to it. Attack on Titan has some of the best anime op/ed's in my opinion!

Sophie Anders

My reasoning for not doing openings and endings is that I want to know the show better so that I can unearth hidden symbolism and foreshadowing that relates to the arc of each season as I think that would make for a unique and interesting react/analysis!

Sophie Anders

I don't mind knowing there's a post-credit scene like I knew for 1 x 25! Just means I don't miss it but the whole "don't watch it because it's a scene from later in the show" is far too much information and without that context I would not have presumed it would occur again!

Aki Himura

That's the stance I usually take with everything with anime. Even with openings, I believe if the studio that made the show put it there, then it's meant to be watched and it shouldn't be an issue (otherwise it would be a writing problem). And like I said in the other post, I believe that even if you figure out what it's about, it won't take away too much from your enjoyment of the show!

Zwei

I completely agree with your sentiment about not knowing the scene was there all would be better. I think a lot viewers were afraid they would miss your reaction to the scene but didn't realise telling you that it's there can change the reaction Tldr (not aimed at you just a general statement to viewers) warning about a spoiler coming is itself a spoiler

Sophie Anders

With a show like AOT I completely get the passion and that sometimes it can come across as aggressive or demanding so I tend to not let it get to me haha! I was similar when GOT TV show diverted from the books. I was so vocal about how bad the show was and everyone should read the books 🙈

screeptoneet

Honestly, it's been way too much hype around this scene for what it's worth, and I mean the hype of watch/skip discussion. The scene itself is pure hype, of course, but I really don't see any reason to be that much afraid of it, but also people who's being aggressive about it being MUST! WATCH! are also a mystery for me. Though I am personally glad you're watching it, haha

Ragdefender2

Definitely the right choice! The show meant you to see it.
