I can understand why he doesn't want to talk right now or properly share his emotions and wants since he's been on his own for several years now and most people he talks to treat him like a child or dare I say a class pet.

I have a few suspicions as to why but it's pretty obvious there's something special about him. For example, What's different about his Aether/Manna, that the fiend was so repulsed by merely a taste, that she dropped her guard and let herself get spear kicked back into the cell? I'd LOVE to dive deep into what I suspect but I don't want to ruin the surprise from Fenn if I'm correct.

Elias would be better off talking to Flare about how he feels about the “pet” issue rather than speculating on his own; but talking things out can be difficult and isn’t the easiest option. Either way, he needs time to clear his head for a bit.
