The general dynamic is that she was treating Darren kind of like a gay best friend - someone you don't have to worry about, because they're not sexually attracted to you. She knew that Darren didn't want a relationship with her, and she knew that she couldn't hold her urges back *all* the time, so she allowed herself to let loose and act unconsciously at home. The problem, of course, is that while Darren didn't want a relationship with her, he *was* sexually attracted to her. So, when Olivia was teasing Darren as far as she could make him go because of her programming, she still expected herself to be safe since Darren wasn't supposed to be interested in her. Then, when things went far enough with Darren to get somewhat close to her new comfort zone each time she was Screened, she would suddenly realize that she *wasn't* as safe with Darren as she thought, and she would panic and exert her self control again and then take it out on him for not being the asexual paragon of virtue that she'd made him out to be. She immediately realized after her very first Screening that he really *was* sexually interested in her, of course, but she secretly enjoyed giving in to her urges with him, and blaming all of their interactions on him allows her to still feel innocent and pure and like she has power over her situation even as her transformation takes her to sluttier new heights. It generally feels like a twist on the tsundere trope, and I interpret the ending as *almost* romantic, given the circumstances. Either way, I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

So I really liked the series, but I kind of wanted to know why she was holding back with him. Was kind of hoping for something romantic or something.
