Strzyga
🕑 Added 2023-10-24 19:06:13 +0000 UTCStrzyga is usually a female demon in Slavic mythology. The demon is similar to a vampire and is predominantly found in Polish and Silesian folklore.
People who were born with two hearts and two souls, and two sets of teeth were believed to be strzygi. Furthermore, a newborn child with already developed teeth was also believed to be one.
During epidemics, people were getting buried alive, and those who managed to get out of their graves, often weak, ill and with mutilated hands, were said to be strzygi by others. It is said that strzygi usually died at a young age, but, according to belief, only one of their two souls would pass to the afterlife; the other soul was believed to cause the deceased strzyga to come back to life and prey upon other living beings.
These undead creatures were believed to fly at night in a form of an owl and attack night-time travelers and people who had wandered off into the woods at night, sucking out their blood and eating their insides. Strzyga were also believed to be satisfied with animal blood, for a short period of time.

You never disappoint. The deep red of the blood does a good job of keeping this creepy and grim without feeling to Tarantino/Burtonesque.

Thank you so so much! To be honest when the blood dried out I could peel it off which was extremely painful. Being covered in pine needles didn't help as well. My jacket and dress got really dirty but I can't imagine if someone walks later onto the spot and see blood on the ground, trees, everywhere :D

Dark and haunting. I enjoy the folk lore, so close to Halloween/Samhain. The use of color against your pale skin makes a wonderful palette. You're a beautiful undead creature

Fantastic storytelling and photo depiction of it. photo #14, hiding behind the tree, is a perfect lead for the rest of the story. The 'blood' all over your naked body is a shocker at first but beautiful simultaneously. But....picture #18, that sultry look in the red velvet dress, my god girl, you're gorgeous!! Then again, we already know you're stunning, both with and without clothes.

Those are really striking! I love how the rich red of the blood works with the colours in the autumn scene. After your last 'behind the scenes' post, I can't help but wonder if you got fake blood all over your jacket though, lol!
