It's hard to adopt this viewpoint. Start by noticing the beauty or improvement of something new or different that has changed in your life. A small change can be overlooked but if you appreciate the small wins, they'll start to pile up. It's hard to let go of the comfortable because it's safe and it's what we know, but life sometimes tosses us out of our safe space. So the thing to do is find ways to make the new space feel safe, to adopt fulfilling new patterns, etc. For instance, something you could make a point of your 'new' life could be taking a walk each morning, exploring your new neighborhood. Notice nature; animals, trees, etc. Notice neighbors. Each day, find something new! Maybe you could give names to wildlife and the trees, Old Abraham the oak and Jasper, the brown squirrel who lives in Abraham, that your dog barks at. Something you do daily becomes a habit, and that habit becomes a facet of your life, and before you know it, you've adopted several new patterns. Thus, creating a new life. I'm just saying, if you feel that you're being pushed out of your old life, embrace a new one!

I cannot find the words to thank you for this message. It honestly helped me a lot this morning and I will be comming back to it whenever I feel down. I wish I could see everything through this perspective and although right now it's really hard - I am hoping it will be possible at one point :(

I understand the loss. I lost both my parents and have ended a number of close friendships the last couple years. In that time, I've redefined myself. I've evolved, worked on myself, and see the change as necessary. The losses moved me from a point of comfort to the next thing on my path. Maybe all this change is necessary for you to move forward. Don't see it all as loss, but a cutting of ties to things that maybe you need to outgrow. A change to start over, find a new you. If so, it changes your perspective from grief to hope. I wish you nothing but good things, and I'm sorry you have to experience all this, but I hope there are ways the change might be helpful. Take care of yourself and know that we're all here to support you. Don't feel obligated to provide material for us if you're not emotionally ready. We understand. We all want you be whole, to be happy
