D&D’s epitaph should be “…but they didn’t do that either.” By taking the show on its own terms instead of hating it for not being the books, you’ve revealed something important - the show was bad because its creators wasted every opportunity to deepen conflict and character. In the end, the near misses of plots that could have made sense (like Dark Salsa) hurt far worse than the huge fuckups (like Jon’s resurrection and Davos’ post-Stannis ??? energy). “Maybe we weren’t meant to enjoy it.” Thanks for doing this, by the way. Loved it. the main thing that has surprised me in this series is that Oceania apparently has its own special pronunciation of "skeletal" that I've never heard before now. and that all those characters knew who the Night King was without any explanation

Dany sees that dragon fire does not kill the Night King but what if Drogon took a proper bite and snaps the guy in half, maybe chew a little bit ? Fire is not the only weapon of a dragon

It would have made it slightly better if Cersei had refused to ring the bells / surrender, and thats what drives Dany to burn the city.

If the explanation is that Jon is uncomfortable being with Daenerys because she’s his aunt now, isn’t that the perfect opportunity for Dany to propose a marriage? Jon would then have to grapple with embracing his Targaryen heritage by taking on his true name and marrying Dany, or rejecting it and her consequences be damned.

I feel like HotD focusing on the Prince who was Promised prophecy and Rhaenyra's fight is making it up for GRRM because D&D threw that story line away and got rid of the magic in GoT.

Ok I finished the whole thing. That was fun guys, it felt all too short. I can't wait for the Fake Tyrion and the Fake Dany. I'll watch them all in a row nonstop. Then probably I'll die but it'll be worth it.

Okay hear me out, what if Tyrion having an issue with Dany and Jon’s relationship came from George Martin and is the evolution of the planned Arya-Tyrion-Jon love triangle. It could be a form of internal conflict for Dany’s side in the last few books. Also… if he ever was planning Tyrion Targaryen it would be another case of unwitting incest… okay maybe it’s time to put the bong down.

I've clearly repressed so much, because I did not remember exactly how atrociously, unforgivably bad season 8 is (I've never revisited it until now). I'd genuinely love another one of these if y'all are ever feeling masochistic enough to make one. Perhaps of Jamie or Cersei? Don't even try with Tyrion. "Can you imagine if they made a fantasy show out of A Song of Ice and Fire?" is quite possibly the best burn of the way this show adapted it that I've ever heard. "Have you considered the themes of 8th grade book reports?" is the perfect description of the amount of depth, consistency, and logic we received in the final season. Salsa Noir is going to live rent free in my brain from now on.
