Damn, that's a lot of spheres. I'm guessing you used a combo of array modifiers or the particle system to place them eh?

Around 1000 spheres, but animating them falling on the plane won’t be hard.

Wow, that's pretty awesome looking. How many spheres total? Would make a cool mini animation if you either dropped them and let them bounce or had them rotating.
