While the cherry picking part is partly true, the rest is just... Gosh I should not be started on that. It's pointless anyway. Yeah big pharma (well, the whole pharma sector) sucks, for a whole universe of reasons. I know, I am a part of this mess. But not because of health autorities, market approval and generally speaking, regulations. Current regulations, health autorities enforcing GMP and health inspectors being hardasses cowboys, are the only reasons why the pharma industry is only 99% shady AF, and not 200% despicable.

Schweong got a point about drugs. There is a shitload of OTC drugs that are in fact designed for their "off-label", with every professionnal in the know, as well as people with a basic grasp of chemistry. One famous example that is still relevant is the structural homology between diphenydramine (sold as OTC to treat transport sickness) and fluoxetine...

anecdote time i was sold on SSRIs for over ten years and i changed my mind and stopped taking them and i'm fine. I never even needed them i was just an apathetic angry teenager.

There are so many things I could say about Big Pharma and all that, but I'll just say one thing that is really fucked up. They don't have to prove their drugs are better than their competition in their trials, just that it's more effective than placebo. For a drink to become FDA approved it needs 2 positive studies showing it works better than placebo. Those trials can be cherry picked. So 98 out of 100 show it does nothing, but the way they set up these two trials made the data come out better than placebo, they give that to the FDA, and bam, new drug is approved. I shudder to think how many of these anti depressants were approved like that. Go fuck yourself, Dick.

Eurasia is the real land mass of Europe and Asia cause its just one big ass continent, its all one tectonic plate with Arabia and India its major subcontinents. Greenland is the worlds largest subcontinent.
