There's a lot of lore, was a trip to see it unfold over several years. TLDR: Maddox was one of the early successful internet satirists, but had no idea why his stuff worked and is generally lacking self-awareness as a person. Dick and Maddox met in the LA comedy scene and collaborated on several projects including a TV pilots and the successful Biggest Problem in the Universe (my intro to Dick, although later did realize I'd seen him on his "Doctor" Phil appearance). The podcast was great, although one could tell there was animosity brewing under the surface - Dick began to outshine Maddox and George couldn't stomach it. Maddox has some combination of insane jealousy (and/or maybe is in love w/ Dick too?) and the drama peaked when Dick went home with a 3-year ex of Maddox's at a wedding (80's girl) and George blew his stack. He broke down, did a lot of weird and obsessive things, and proceeded to harass and harangue not only Dick and 80's girl but many other people for years. This is likely the true motivation for the LOLsuit - where Maddox teamed up with an incompetent, unethical lawyer named Kevin Landau to try to sue 10 different people for 20 million dollars... each. Truly one of the great Greek Tragedy-esque dramas of the internet age. Many other twists and turns in the saga, it really deserves to have some long-form documentaries made (if there aren't already). Maddox threw away his credibility, dignity, and future by aligning himself with scum, and showing his true colors. An absolute laughingstock - and he deserves all of it

I’ve only been listing to the show for about a year, can someone explain to me who this Maddox guy is and what the hell happened a long time ago? I’ve heard snippets that he sued dick? And that he used to be apart of the Biggest Problem? Did something happen to Maddox to make him so insane? He gets brought up so much and I have no idea what the TLDR is lol.
