Regarding whether to vaccinate or not really comes down to which vaccine and how frequent. Most (especially the ones that we give babies) are well worth it as the risk of an adverse event is substantially lower (and less damaging) than the risk of the disease it prevents. For my dash of credibility I would note that the more immigrants in your area the more likely your children are of contracting a pretty damaging early life disease because the immigrants likely didn't get vaccinated and didn't grow up in a place with herd immunity. In the first year the main ones are RSV, HepB, Rota, DTaP, Hib, IPV, Hib, MMR, VAR, HepA. These are all pretty well established as legitimate best practice. Don't bother with the covid vaccine (or any other MRNA vaccine as there is legitimately no way you can compare the risks, because we don't know what they are). It is best to spread them out a bit (despite what some say) so that if there is a reaction or rejection (rare but there are people who are allergic to some of the ingredients, like eggs, or have adverse events post immunization) you know what caused it. PS, obesity in the mother is really bad, you get all sorts of complications including childhood obesity, hormonal changes, and decreased small muscle dexterity.
