It's baffling what people identify as filth or disgusting. Fingernails, I get it, it's like "why wasn't this disposed of properly" but it's not a biohazard. Meanwhile no matter how much you clean and disinfect it a kitchen sink is a cesspit of bacteria and disease. It's all aesthetic, things need to be spotless. Think about it logically, become a complete slob, and reject the S.C. Johnson, Clorox, "Big cleaning product" matrix. Everyone will hate you, but you can live in your filth satisfied in the knowledge that your logic is sound.
