Hate to admit it but... yea that job scam is real. I was supposed to be a remote data entry clerk for Roche Pharmaceuticals (which is real, they're just not the ones I was talking to). Began all the normal onboarding stuff, getting set up in Teams, chatting with your new team lead, setting hours, selecting equipment for use, on and on and yada yada eventually it's all a Bitcoin scam and you've been had. Happened late 2024. If I'm honest, I should've noticed the signs and I shouldn't have been so gullible. But if I'm still being honest.. I think I did and just didn't care. I'd been jobless for a long time, I needed a miracle. That's what's so nefarious about this to me. It's one thing to rob someone that's doing well, but these guys take advantage of people at their lowest point and make it lower. Gross.

That Nazi march you talked about was in IL. Skokie, IL specifically, which is just north of Chicago and it has a very large Jewish population. Skokie actual has an Eruv (kosher fishing line) just like NY. And the Nazi march was back in the 70s and the Neo Nazi's were actually aided in there legal defense by the ACLU. Because they won that case, Skokie had to let them march and that's why to this day we have mandatory Holocaust class in IL public schools (I grew up in IL).
