the whole middle section from Eternal Sunshine to We Cant Be Friends (Wait For Your Love) is my fav part of the album. that sections’s vibe is just right up my alley. dont get me wrong, i dont think theres a bad song on the album but that section just has me in a chokehold😮‍💨. also i wanted to add, i personally interpreted We Cant Be Friends as a song about the relationship between her and the press. the “papers and pens” being the writers. and she’s acknowledging that they wont be friends and that she’ll just have to wait for the continuous cycle to reach the point where the press likes her again. also thought the line “you got me misunderstood but at least i look this good” plays into it well cuz stories come out but the pictures they use in them, ari looks good in. also both verses, imo, play into this concept as well like she cant say too much even tho she wants to clarify or correct the rumors. “i dont wanna tiptoe (doesnt wanna dance around whatever the topic of talk is but its usually recommend for artists to stay quiet in controversy) but i dont wanna hide (doesnt want to be silent about it either) but i dont wanna feed this monstrous fire (adding fuel to the “flame” that is whatever controversy shes in)” i also love how Imperfect For You as a song is just full of irony. the message of “im IMPERFECT but IM PERFECT for u” is so artistically creative to me. like just add a space in “imperfect” and theres the message of the song lmao. and this may or may not be a reach but it sounds like Nonna in a way answers Aris questions in the Intro. so like a full circle moment and ending on that positive note with Nonna being a source of her own “eternal sunshine”. structurally, it was a beautiful album and as much as i could gas it up, its Ari, OFC its good😭. its her talent, shes a natural in her element. my tops off initial listen: 1. the boy is mine 2. eternal sunshine 3. true story 4. imperfect for you 5. we cant be friends (wait for your love) HM’s: bye & supernatural

Okay, hear me out. What if Nona talking was an interlude to the last song which would be written about her self love to herself. That for me would have been the perfect ending to her album because I agree that ordinary things isn’t a strong song. It’s cute though. I’m the same with the songs I didn’t like and did like. We can’t be friend is definitely a grower and when you watch the music video it just makes you fall in love with it more. I do think that this album could have gone the lemonade route and had a video for every song to tell a story. And I do wish there was 1 or 2 more upbeat songs but overall a strong album for me. 8/10.

she took months developing this album, and I actually disagree with you completely. The production is one of the best she's ever had, and the 2000s/90s vibe is what a lot of fans wanted from her. The album has the same atmosphere and message because that's what albums tend to have...also there is SOOO much growth. She has grown vocally (thanks to wicked) and I think this album was so outstanding and exceeded so many expectations

honestly really disappointed in this album, the production seems like cheapish hype club stuff from the early 2000s the lyrics are very straight forward, the entire album has the same atmosphere and message, there is very little growth and vocally theres nothing outstanding, it truly seems like an album she quickly made by herself in repetitive sessions over a small window of time
