it's such an absolutely stupid story. a corruption of a personal anecdote told to me by a flatmate i knew for a year in 2015. Dan is a real guy whose lung collapsed a single time, but I never met him. my flatmate was telling me a story about a holiday him and a group of friends were on, and at one point he just casually said "and then Dan's lung collapsed", and quickly moved on. I was howling about it for 10 minutes bc he was so casual about a serious medical problem, and inferred from it that dans lung must collapse regularly. but yeah.. never met Dan, never heard of him outside of that anecdote, and i haven't spoken to the person who told me the anecdote in almost 8 years. idk why I keep putting it in my scripts, it's so STUPID
