hello! it's been almost a whole year since the last time i embarrassed myself by singing for all of you. man, i just listened to that old recording and it is so bad. i think this is much better. still not brilliant, but a lot better. this being the best song ever recorded probably helps a lot.

Your singing has such a lovely warm, pure tone to it. I’m not sure why (as the music and feel are totally different) but something in your voice reminded me strongly of One Last Goodbye from Anathema’s Judgement album. Hope we get to hear more 🙂

Ok so I’ve listened to the original and this cover multiple times and I have to say, I think I like the cover better. Am I the only one? In my opinion, the vocal quality is more open and full, befitting the quasi-loneliness, void-conversation of the song context. I’m sure Phas would be horrified, but I was actually a little disappointed when I heard the original…the cover had established my expectations. And those expectations were high.

I've never heard this song (now I've heard it twice: War on Drugs and you, Phas) and it hit me in all the feels. I'm currently sitting in my husband's hospital room while he fights a health issue.
