Re-listening and picking up on so much nuance and fine details: the tracker likely abused his son (Rhyse) with a collar (by his own admission) which led Rhyse to abusing the listener with one. Then there's the little bit about listening to Jasper's heart at the end and the change in tempo as he grows furious recalling the tracker collaring the listener and it spikes quickly, before slowly easing back down as he comforts us. Phas and Audrey are too incredible and make such an excellent team. I'd die to play a DnD campaign with you both. 😊

I'm so invested in the story, hearing more about this world, about the werewolf clan, about the hunters, beautiful writing. I wonder if we might see Rabbit comfort Jasper from a nightmare? It's so refreshing, having a very clearly strong and protective character still struggle with things like ptsd, it feels like those types of characters are never allowed to show vulnerability. One of the things that I've really been enjoying about this series is the lore. These Werewolves pass along an oral tradition. As Danya is such a one that Jasper loved.. her memory lives on. The memory of his pack lives on. I'd love to hear more such stories. I'd love for the listener to be able to help him carry forward these stories.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA this was so goooooooood. god. Jasper and Rabbit's relationship is less than a month old in universe, but they are already so loving. Jasper is already so gentle with Rabbit without treating them like they're weak/helpless. he wants to show them genuine care and it makes my heart melts. and Rabbit's been caring about Jasper since day one, and that hasn't changed. also how caring Jasper is with Rabbit in the last conversation, doing his best to calm them down because they're still working through the trauma of having the thrall collar put on them and then being ordered to fire at Jasper. just...you can feel the love these two have for each other even though they've known each other for maybe a bit over a month at this point. and it just makes my heart melt.
