AJ spun around and looked up for location of the speaker. The earth pony recognized the voice as being Fluttershy's, and from the origin of the voice AJ's eyes began searching the limbs of the apple tree she was standing under. Quickly she spied the familiar chiffon yellow and rose pink of her friend's mane, coat, and long coiled serpent tail.
Wait. What?
Squinting AJ confirmed her first glance. Gone were her friend's wings and legs. In their place was a long, thick, well muscled serpent-like tail which was the same chiffon yellow as the rest of the mare. Along its back it had rose pink scale markings hat echoed Fluttershy's usual butterfly cutie mark.
For several seconds AJ said nothing. Realizing she staring at her friend the earth pony finally spoke. "Um, yes. Yes. Autumn and I are ready ta go and....Fluttershy. Where didcha yer legs and wings go? And why do ya have a snake tail now?"
Fluttershy giggled. "Oh AJ! We're going to see Stampede tonight! Remember the mares in the band encourage mares attending to go a bit wild and explore their personality and nature. Well uh, Discord permanently gave me some of his chaos magic as a wedding gift, and um, I love animals so thought to becoming part of one tonight."
The Element of Kindness smiled and looked back and twitched her long serpentine tail. "Plus Rainbow Dash was describing nagas in one her Daring Do novels. So I've been experimenting with this idea for awhile. Hugs I thought for tonight it would be uh, good time to publicly this show it off for the first time! I bet most ponies will have never seen anything like it!"
The Element of Honesty slowly nodded her with a slightly stunned look on her face. "Yer probably right about that!"

I think AJ's reaction would be pretty similar to mine if I were in their hooves. Part of me wonders if our dear Fluttershy realizes that, in a way, they're taking some aspects of their spouses delight for chaos. Albeit quite a bit more tempered with a playful gentleness that only they really can manage. Really enjoyed how easy it was for me to imagine both of their voices in my head and just the scene in general. I mean just look at her expression and tell me that it does not give you a dream-like quality as if remembering something that has already happened. And the small details on the jewelry and bikini top are really a nice touch giving them an almost mythical feel. And I did not recognize at first the cutie mark pattern on their serpent half which really was a neat surprise.
