Hunter's Mark
🕑 Added 2022-11-28 20:38:45 +0000 UTCThis is my 5th Edition D&D Cerva character Cedric Blackprongs. He's a dual class 5th level Horizon Walker Ranger and a 7th level Pact of the Chain Warlock.
As time has gone on I've leaned more and more into Cedric's warlock nature. However I haven't forgotten his ranger past. A very useful spell for him is Hunter's Mark. It's one of my go to combat spells for increasing damage on a specific target, and especially if I'm dealing with a target that has either a high stealth or the ability to Misty Step, Thunder Step, Dimension Door, or possess the racial ability to do this. Because even the pops out and then pops back in on the map I'll know where they are.
As Cedric's character has evolved I've developed in my mind an idea of what it looks like when he casts various types of spells in his repertoire. So when he casts Hunter's Mark I imagine this spectral stag launching from Cedric and charging over and hitting the target. From then on the spell marks the target.
