🕑 Added 2023-05-02 17:04:49 +0000 UTCFlight crews and ground support ponies hustled about as they prepared the squadrons for their attack. The cruiser's hangar bay was cacophony of sounds, but over the racket a rather raspy voice calls.
"Hey there newbie!"
Strolling up in her orange flight suit and with her flight helmet tucked under her right arm was Rainbow Dash. She grins at the newly assigned pilot.
"Welcome to the rebellion kid! So! Yer my new wingpony. Okay, follow these simple instructions. Do what I say. Immediately. Follow my lead. Stay on my tail, and you might just survive this war!"
Rainbow Dash then started climbing up the access ladder to the cockpit of her X-Wing fighter. Before she stepped into the cockpit of her fighter. She paused and looked back.
"Okay! Let's be awesome!"
This is one of the drawings I started during my most recent Picarto stream. The theme that night was Star Wars.

One did, but that impress the 12 year old version of me at the time. So I was all in on Team X-Wing.

The Y-Wings are neat. However it seemed like most of the Y-Wings got wiped out on camera during the attack on the Death Star. Therefore my young mind, which was really into WWII warbirds at the time, immediately thought of the Douglas Devastators at the battle of Midway. So that kind of turned me off to them at time.

When I was a kid and saw A New Hope for the first time. The moment the Squadron leader said "Lock S-foils in attack configuration", and then the X-Wings did their thing I fell in love with the ship. There are other starfighters in the Star Wars universe, but the X-Wing will always be the craft I think of first.

Ah, of course Dash would get an X-Wing, as much as I enjoy the various other Alphabet-wings of the series, you can't deny that it is the classic.
