A few years later and some how they've kept their jobs and now they seem to be fascinated with the defibrillator on the crash cart. They look excite to figure out how to use it!

yeah, maybe. I don't remember throwing the punch. What I do remember starts like an alien abduction scenario. I wake up in a strange place with a bunch of creatures trying to hold me down, while babbling incoherently. Of course I'm fighting back, right? Then one of them decides to speak English and says, "You've had a major heart attack!" so I calm down and let the doctors get to work. Apparently my brain reboots with Defense at the top, followed by Consciousness, and Language is much later..

Reminds me of the old slapstick trope of a doctor tapping a patient's knee with that little rubber hammer and getting kicked in the face.

Yeah, be careful. Some creatures react oddly to defib. Almost 20 years ago i had a clot and needed angioplasty, they cleared the clot and installed a couple of stents. BUT... they needed to defib me during the process. Afterwards several of the interns told me that they were impressed. I nearly took one of them out with a left hook. First time they'd ever seen somebody fight back.
