Torn clothing poll
🕑 Added 2017-10-31 04:06:52 +0000 UTC Hey everybody! As part of the upcoming changes to our H-scene mechanics, I've been doing some thinking. With our new mechanics, H-scenes will be player initiated and give you some kind of bonus for going through them - haven't decided exactly what, but it'll be a positive thing for the player. Since scenes will be player initiated, there's no real purpose to the torn clothing anymore - it used to be that you lost your clothes when an enemy started a sex scene with you, but it doesn't really make sense with the new context.I am considering removing the torn clothing from the game (especially with our modular outfit goal at 4k) - that said, I know it's something a lot of people like, so I don't want to just go ahead with it before getting everyone's thoughts. Removing them would mean a lower animation workload - right now Alicia will have 4 states (clothed, torn clothing, and then BE variations of each), and the same can be said about alternate costumes if we ever get to that goal. That's a pretty hefty amount of animation work, and if we do get to alt costumes, it'll probably effect the amount of alternate costumes we can do, since the torn clothing roughly doubles the animations Alicia needs.
If you could take the time to leave your opinion on this poll I'd really appreciate it! If it's too popular of a feature, we'll absolutely keep it and find a different way to implement it.

Thanks for your time everybody. As for v.28, if anybody's wondering, it still isn't quite ready yet but it should be soon. I still expect to have it done by the 7th or so at the latest.

I understand if you do choose to leave. Hopefully it won't be as bad as you expect, but I get not everybody will be happy with the changes. They do have to happen though, so thank you for understanding that at least, even if you do choose to stop supporting.

I will say, you keep mentioning things will be altered "slightly" but if it drifts too far I'm not sure I will be able to keep supporting. I understand it isn't your fault but I won't lie it was that specific type of content that brought me here.

Not gonna lie, it is tempting. I do love futa, but right now my plan is to try and add more alien-like enemies, since it is an alien planet and all, and we are lacking in alien enemies a bit. Maybe I'll do yet another poll soon to see how many people want more futa though :p

Yeah, looks like it. We'll most likely keep the torn clothing and do what Krystallize commented up above if we ever hit alternate costumes.

We're not changing to become "more SFW". None of our NSFW content is going anywhere, it's just being altered slightly. And need I remind you the change is out of necessity; if it wasn't altered, we would be breaking Patreon guidelines. And no, you're 100% wrong about them not downloading the game. You may have "spoken with other h game devs", but I speak with dozens of them on a daily basis, and plenty of those conversations have given me reason to believe that Patreon will download the game and check it if they have enough reason to believe you're breaking the guidelines. Besides, even if they wouldn't, I'm NOT interested in trying to ignore their rules; maybe you'd be comfortable doing that in my shoes, but Crisis Point is my only income, and I'm not about to do anything that could cause me to lose it, especially if the changes are so minor that I don't even mind doing them to begin with. I'm sorry you feel that way about my work. I don't blame you for feeling that way, but anyone who has been donating for a long time knows that we had 2 full years of completely uninterrupted development, with content being delivered every single month without fail. The last year has been extremely hard on me; for one I nearly died in a car wreck, and then shortly after recovering from that my father passed away. Some people apparently don't believe that last one, but it's absolutely the truth, and it's the first major loss I've ever suffered in life. I didn't handle it well, and I'm just starting to get back to normal over the past few months. I've already spent enough time apologizing for my mistakes, so if that's not enough, then there's not much left to say. If you feel like I'm milking you for money, then you can feel free to unpledge at any time. Last note, I don't know what you're talking about spending almost $100 - my patreon notes say you've spent almost exactly half that, so I think your estimates are a little off.

I dont know man Im starting to really question if CPE is even going to see the light of day, its been like 3 years and your roughly halfway through development, that said seeing as how you are so easily going to change the game to be more sfw it really annoys me that I spent almost 100$ into this game. So far its been nothing but let downs and dissapointments, 5 months for a new release and when that release came out it was a nice little improvment but not really worth the time/money and now this. I mean I'm sorry if Im being a bit rude I dont mean to be an asshole it just really makes me wonder what your goals are and if crisis point is even going to ever finish. I feel like I am just being milked for money.. Anyways I think its worth mentioning that patreon is not going to download your game and inspect it like you think, I have already spoke about this with other h game devs on patreon, they just want their page looking sfw is all CPE isint even an extreme or boundry pushing game anyways.. (Dont take it personally im just getting things off my chest) Let the opinions begin!

Hang on, is there anywhere that details those changes? I’ve only heard there was going to be a change but I have absolutely no clue what exactly, and I feel like patrons are owed an explanation at the very least.

I personally ain't a horn-dog that would demand it. Whatever's best for gameplay/ game completion process. If you end up not completing it through the game, you could may as well keep what you've made so far as a cheat code or something.

That's a solid point. If we go that route, the alt costumes could either have no torn state, or they could all share a completely nude state as their 'torn' variation, if we end up having any gameplay mechanics around torn clothing instead of it being purely visual. Nice idea, I'll definitely keep that in mind.

I don't exactly know where you wanna go with player initiated sex scenes but if it's the way I'm thinking, the creatures could still immidiately jump her for some rough sex that could tear her clothes apart even if she started teasing. On the other hand, I totally get that it takes a lot of time to make those sprites, especially for different costumes, but I think it wouldn't be too much of a gamebreaker if her clothes would only be damaged when she's wearing the standardcostume. At least it would be better than removing it completely.
