Oh yes - the basic idea of Succubus is great! I also didn't mind the execution much. Maybe the mechanic would be worth a review for any follow-up titles to Crisis Point ;)

Masturbate = Inciting for sex. Fuck christ almighty, FINALLY an H developer decides for this, and though it's a bit sad, scrapped and unused content is a natural part in the development of big projects, so if you can handle that fully convinced that it is for the better, go ahead without worries. And I agree with you, seems that it is the western industry the one that seems to be trying to give variety to H content, but it's a shame because, among eastern ones, I still think Succubus from Libra Heart had discovered the pinnacle for H game mechanics: Beating enemies to sexually overpower them, and tempting them into ravaging you. If it hadn't had a weak execution by making the charm spell so broken, I could have seen something akin to those stealth games where evasion and combat have their own strategic challenges, with a "M/S morality" system for added fun... Shame their later games didn't build up from that idea. Future Fragments remained traditional with the H mechanic aside from the not game over ones, but the setting and the way they don't break the narrative flux of the story just feels right, I don't have real complaints there. You just do the game you want to do, that will define the marketing, not the other way around ;)

I can't agree there. Sure, it's a pretty common element of hentai, but I don't agree at all that it's definitively PART of hentai as a whole - there's plenty of consensual hentai out there, and just because it's consensual doesn't mean the characters in question have to be shameless sex addicts that drop their pants the second sex becomes an option. People are WAY more complex than that, and any good writer can get plenty of out a consensual scenario that's not just "they lovingly made the sexing to one another". Also, "the game part" that you mention may be your personal tastes, but what if that's not how I want my game to play out? Saying it "should" be this way is kind of dismissive towards new ideas, which could easily lead to stagnation in the H-game industry. I dunno about you, but the last thing I want is for every H-game I ever play to be exactly the same

Unsure. Part of the hentai franchise is having your character be 50/50 about giving into the lewds or not, then gradually turning to %100. The seduction factor over just dropping yourself shamelessly is a bit more desired from what the ratings on other titles show. Bigger examples are MGQ, Eroico, etc. The game part of it should be trying to resist the temptation to further complete the game, therefore keeping yourself anxious to get the full reward (Building up to just shamelessly screwing everything after you:ve *unlocked* everything by ignoring thus said temptations)

Overall I like this, shame to lose the game over consolation prize, but not having to deliberately get yourself killed to get to them, or having them be a reward for success is more fun. Having them be consentual and canon with the story more so still.
