Yeah, Soichiro was far from perfect; but I never doubted that he loved his son and wanted the best for him. Charles, tho? I mean -- the show explains the behavior later, sure -- but as Lelouch said "the plan always came first" (or something to that effect) so even then I still don't think it was justified. Ugh. I do wish I could just skip to some of those later episodes. Not that the early episodes are bad or anything -- I'm actually enjoying them more than Death Note these days. But the final six or seven episodes of this show are just so. fuckin'. good. I cannot wait. Lol. Well, she ended up dealing with Fry in a... different kinda way.

I'll say this: Soichiro had his shortcomings as an old-fashioned guy who was busy with work limiting his interaction with his son who for all he knew could have been involving the radical, ultimately short-sighted thoughts of HIS generation, but at least he tries to be a good father. Charles....yeah, dear God do we wish Lelouch would have successfully Charles his b**** in that meeting, but now we have to wait probably 39 more episodes for that to happen. Oh, and yeah, I was remembering that what-if bit with Leela. Ended with her little bit with Fry where she turned off the lights and Fry screamed...and then showed enjoyment for some odd reason, wonder what that's about.
