This episode pulls together a lot of little tidbits bits dropped in the series so far. This story doesn't hold your hand and isn't a second screen type show. When Marva mentions Clem hanging in the square and the supplemental scene of Cass charging the troopers it gives additional context to info about Cass we have already been given. In the second episode we hear the Corporate police talk about Cassian's criminal record in the scene where they say, "this says he is from Fest" and then lists his crimes "insurrection, destruction of property and attacking an imperial soldier" - that is what that was referencing. That is also where they get his hologram because that is a type of mugshot in the Imperial system. Additionally Cass tells Skeen, in episode 5, that he went into juvenile prison at 13 and came out at 16. Attacking the soldiers is what that was for. It is also commentary on the real life stories of young children who are sent off to prisons in occupied areas when they "rebel" after their fathers and uncles are killed. We then know he went right from prison into the army and then he eventually came home. So the guy Clem, who Marva was with on the junker mission ended up being Cassian's father implying Marva was married to him. This is reinforced by the statement that "Jezzi and Sammo" are family. We meet Jezzi later on who is a black female character, so likely a relation of Clem. Also it is a minor detail but Cassian's awesome gun that he carries around is seen in the Kanari flashback in Clam's hand when he says to Cass, "I like your spirit son."
