Triss is more than capable of dealing with random guards and monsters in the forest. She also knows that being a damsel in distress for her huntsman with a silver sword is the best way to get his attention away from other women, so she made sure he knew she would be in danger from the big bad wolf, and she's counting on him to swoop in and rescue her. Good wolf vs bad - and whichever one beats the other, Triss is going to get what she wants ;)
