The secret isn't to do constant escalations, it's to always have something that'll capture the attention. Something that'll be interesting to read. There's plenty of relationship stuff to do that with. :D

I think often, specially with regular release, there is a pressure for authors to write with constant escalations and they forget to build a tempo of movement then calm, action and rest, to allow us to experience not just the world but the characters, I really enjoyed this calm chapter, just exploring the character dynamics, the calm before the storm
